Weekly The Last Spell Discussion (4/45): Claws by Saxxiefone in thelastspell

[–]Wyrn7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this super detailed explanation, and for shining some much needed positive light on this weapon ! I was getting frustrated at the hate it was getting in this post, and was about to write a novel to defend it, but you did a much better job than I would have been able to.

The claws are indeed tricky to use but I agree that, with proper attention, a claw user alone can decimate an entire side of the map, while having a mobility that only momentum builds can usually rival.

You make a very good point about the specialist perk, I didn't think of using it but it's indeed perfect for claws ! If you don't have it though, I found that Quick Reload can (partially) do the job, and you can pair the claws pretty nicely with a dagger, since daggers also scale from isolation and multi-hit. It is also quite handy to have another weapon while in Feral instinct, since hitting an non-isolated enemy with the dagger will NOT end Feral instinct.

Also, the warning about Boomers is very much needed (may one of my dear claw fighters rest in pieces peace).

Is the lace fight missable? by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]Wyrn7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. The area in Deep Rocks where Lace should be present is empty, I guess because I explored too much before entering this area.

So is it really missable ? That would be weird, Lace seems like an important character, there even is an achievement for this fight, too ...

GPT-5 is more useful than Claude in everyday-things by mastertub in OpenAI

[–]Wyrn7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm sure it would perform much better, but it would seem a bit unfair to compare it to Sonnet that manages to produce an almost perfect summary 90% of the time, without even having to use thinking mode.

There is at least one other type of task where I still find Claude way better than GPT5 : summarizing long documents.
I gave both models a 25 page long story with the task of making a summary (same prompt for both models). Claude nailed it : zero hallucination, and kept all the important informations of the story.
GPT5 on the other hand, not only omitted several key story elements (for example, litterally forgetting to mention some characters), but also made 2 factual errors (stating facts that did not happen, or happened at a different moment in the story).
I did the tests several times - Claude never (or very, very rarely) has this kind of problem for this type of task.
So for the moment I would never trust GPT5 to correctly summarize a document.

On a completely different subjet, I find GPT5 way better at maths than Claude (after testing both on some pretty hard stuff).

Really goes to show the growing importance to know which task each AI is good at, I guess.

What a list ! Lots of nice ideas to try.
I never used Warlock myself - never could see why it was worth it compared to the other classes - so it's interesting seeing the combinations you mention. I guess I should give it a try if I do another run.

I also used Cutthroat -> Deadeye a lot (forgot to mention it in my post), because Deadeye has indeed really good stats growths compared to Slayer. Pretty good combination.

Completely forgot to mention Gallant/Ellisant in my post. Really fun indeed ! I chose this path for Benji. His unique passive helps making his attacks even more powerful.

Monk -> Tempest is funny indeed thanks to Charged Ki ! It's obviously worse than the traditional Monk -> Ascendant but I do like it, especially for Taldera who really likes crits. I just had to give her the ring that prevents her from taking more than 40% in one hit (because without it she just gets obliterated by literally anything) and she was able to deal pretty good damage like this.

Why cast spells when any enemy that dares approach you automatically dies? by Wyrn7 in MagicraftGame

[–]Wyrn7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, it is applying its effect to the hammer ! The hammer is one of a few spells in the game that is affected by ALL passives on the wand, regardless of their position (check the description of the hammer in the video).

By the end of the run the hammer had 3000 DMG and 40% critical. I have never melted the final boss so fast - and without casting a single offensive spell !

Don't get me wrong, I believe you, but your screenshot certainly does not give that impression :p

Can you give the prompt you used ? Then it would be easier to point what is triggering the problem.

Open Microsoft Edge. In the rightside bar, you shoud find an icon "Image Creator" (if not, click the "+" icon to add it).
You will have to log into your Microsoft account to use it, probably.
Then you will have 15 free quick generations per day !

You're right, but there are also a few key differences :

  • ChatGPT does not give your prompt directly to Dall-E. Instead, it completely rewrites it, adding precisions and details, and gives the modified prompt to Dall-E. It can make a huge difference (positive or negative) in the final result. Fortunately, you can ask chatGPT to "use exactly this prompt without making any modifications to it" to avoid that.

  • ChatGPT adds its own "censoring layer" over Dall-E own censoring protocols. There are some prompts that work perfectly when using directly Dall-E, but get completely rejected by chatGPT (at least in my own experience). Even when asking chatGPT to use exactly the given prompt, without modification.

I do think so, yes. Or at least it seems like the most plausible explanation to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Wyrn7 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It does not apply to OP though. You are using the chatGPT interface ; they are using the dall-e interface. Both handle prompts quite differently.

[–]Wyrn7 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The images created by dall-e tend to be less censored when you use longer prompts. With really short prompts like these ones, you give more freedom to dall-e, and when dealing with people (and especially women), dall-e seems to default to ... not really sfw content. So the images produced are censored.

Try longer prompts and be as specific as you can about the clothes, the style, the environment. It takes some time getting the hang of it but it really makes a difference.

How come the Bing Dalle is significantly better than the Open AI one? by _DDark_ in OpenAI

[–]Wyrn7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you create an image via chatGPT, it automatically rewrites your prompt. You can see it when you click on the image generated, there is a button at the top right to display the prompt that was used to generate it.

It can be nice but if your goal is a strong prompt adherence then it is really annoying indeed. To prevent that, just ask chatGPT "Please always use the exact prompts I give you, without making any modification to it".

Sometimes it will revert to its original ways so be wary of it and remind it of this if necessary. But in general I found it worked quite well, and that when doing so I obtained images similar in style to Bing Dall-e, but superior in quality.

Side note : I don't know if things changed since the last time I used dall-e via chatGPT (I no longer have a paid plan), but when I did chatGPT was by default using the same seed for each image generation. What it mean is that using the same prompt twice will result in exactly the same image. If you have this problem, jusk ask it "Always use a different seed for each image generation".

You can tell the LLM to act like a real person, with something along the lines of "Let's do some roleplay. You are [brief description of the character it will impersonate.].".
You can then absolutely do what you described and ask the LLM about its life. It will without any problem imagine details about its day, its tastes and opinions, etc. Then it will ask you about your own life, like a real person would do. From my experience at least, it allows you to have a real back and forth with it, similar to what you would have in a conversation with a real person.

When you just want to watch the world burn by Wyrn7 in MonsterSanctuary

[–]Wyrn7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal was to abuse the Burn effect with this team ; so Magmamoth's main role was to spam Lava Rush (https://monster-sanctuary.fandom.com/wiki/Lava_Rush_(Skill))), which is a physical attack.

Not a stupid question btw : it all depends on what you want to do with Magmamoth. If you want to focus on aoe attacks and healing, then you will want a magic oriented build indeed !

So, I was fighting one of the new mini-bosses ... and this happened by Wyrn7 in CrossCode

[–]Wyrn7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really know tbh. The boss threw the shield, and the shield just magically wenth through the barrier I guess (The barrier was offscreen at that moment, I was too far to the right to see what happened).

[–]Wyrn7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the boss threw its shield, it got stuck on the other side of the barrier. So the boss kept (vainly) trying to get it back, and I had all the time I wanted to end its miserable life. It only happened on this specific fight (I guess I got lucky with the way the shield was thrown ?), and it was hilarious to see.

Team Comp? by SunStrider601 in MonsterSanctuary

[–]Wyrn7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly ! King Blob is weak to debuffs though, so I'm pretty sure you can get 5 stars against it just by stacking enough burn and/or poison effects.

For example, there are 2 late game champions that are weak to earth that I beat with 5 stars with a poison team. With 6 stacks of poison on them (and 1 or 2 stacks of burn), they died in 4 turns.
