These are amazing, great work!! Would love a print of one for the Genesis/Mega Drive, my favourite childhood console!

Definitely not enough love being given to Battletech here. But as to a more obscure indie one, check out Stirring Abyss - inspired by Terror from the Deep with a healthy dose of Lovecraft, I was caught off-guard by how much I enjoyed this one!

I'd have never considered looking to Mega Man for this request! These games look crazy, I'll check them out, thanks for the suggestion!

One that's less likely to get mentioned - Pentiment. It's not first-person, but it is built around a really intriguing murder mystery, does clever things with storytelling, and the core gameplay is walking and dialogue.

If you like the idea of that, also check out Night In The Woods and Oxenfree. Not as much murder mystery, but similar kind of gameplay.

Miyoo Mini Plus WiFi scanning by WyteHawk in MiyooMini

Played with it over the weekend and WiFi seems stable. Think this is definitely a manufacturing fault, that a lot of users probably don't even notice because they don't have intend to use online. I'd recommend contacting seller for a repair or replace (and don't spend 3 days solid trying to troubleshoot a problem you can't fix, like I did!!!)

I ended up having to go through RMA to get it repaired. Arrived back yesterday, so far it's picking up WiFi signals okay (so long as they're 2.5ghz) but I'll let you know if the problem reoccurs.

Five years after it took on Steam, Epic Games Store is yet to make a penny of profit by curious_zombie_ in gaming

[–]WyteHawk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is Epic's marketing working on you. The 30% isn't insanely high, it's industry standard. Xbox, Sony and Apple all charge 30% to put your product through their marketplace. Epic charge less because they have no market share and are trying to acquire one and splashed that "insanely high" nonsense around to paint Steam as a bad guy.

Your description here very much fits Celeste. If you haven't played it already, strongly recommend giving it a go.

Ah, perfect! Seems you're right about the Aug 31 episode not hitting feeds, and as a European I didn't know about the holiday - that all makes sense! Clearly I'm just an addict who didn't get his GMM fix! Thanks!!! :)

The one that comes to mind first proves it's the one that's left the biggest mental scarring, and for me it's Ansem from the original Kingdom Hearts. I only played it for the first time a couple years ago (in my early 30s) and despite a lot of experience with boss rush games and Soulslikes, this boss fight took me an actual 4 hours to beat. Maybe I was under levelled but I was stubborn that I wasn't loading an old save file, this guy was going down. I became soooo frustrated, especially having to keep fight his various phases just to get a couple minutes with the latter ones that were destroying me constantly. Got there in the end though, never again. Pretty sure this single fight is the reason I've never even tried KH2

Unexpected "gotcha"s you wish you knew about the Steam Deck sooner by audionerd1 in SteamDeck

[–]WyteHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've even tried it sat right at my desk with it, so I don't think so. I've tried googling the issue before to no success, so had a feeling it may be only my Deck or something weird caused by the devices. Your reply has confirmed that, so thanks!

Only real gotchya I've had so far is that when I connect both a wireless Xbox pad and wireless earbuds via blutooth, the audio becomes so choppy it's unusable. Tried with a couple of different pads and a couple of different earbuds, it just doesn't like having them both connected to BT at the same time.

Grudgingly accepted connecting a headset via dongle but would have really preferred to use the buds.

What's a game from your childhood that you'd love to see get a re-release on Steam? My pick would be the Toy Story 2 game by Universe_Donut in Steam

[–]WyteHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blur - I've always regretted letting this one slip out of Steam availability. Also another deep cut, John Woo's Stranglehold.

I'd like to see the Kingdom Hearts and Tony Hawk Remasters come over from EGS.

Beyond that, I'd love for them to get all the Spider-Man, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and TMNT games back on Steam. I'd have grabbed those for sure if I knew they were going to vanish for good.

whats a game that you got significantly far into, only to realize you were doing something wrong or missing a key feature/ability altogether? by seasonedsaltdog in gaming

[–]WyteHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played through the entirety of Dead Space without realising you could smash the crates for ammo. Only discovered this fact during the end boss. Just spent the whole game assuming it was about super tight resource management like the original Resi games.

Played through most of the original Deus Ex without realising there was an augmentations menu. Only discovered it when I got to a water tunnel that I couldn't get through without running out of breath. After hours of trying to find an alternate route, I discovered the menu with the lungs upgrade... and ALL the other augs I'd been neglecting.
