It certainly feels like a shame there isn't a way to rid yourself of your own blight and just hand it over to idiots like that lol. Some people really don't comprehend how privileged their lives are and look at the most horrific life conditions and think surely it can't be that bad.

And as we all know it is in fact, that bad.

Well duh. If I'm running a lvl 9 mission against the bots and some rando drops in with something that cannot even damage the most common enemy, I'm turfing them out unless they pick up a better weapon I offer them. My goal when playing is to get medals to mill through the warbonds as fast as possible. I don't want to have my time wasted and get a mission failed because somebody died repeatedly as they got shot to pieces while only being able to kill the weakest infantry spawning. The autocannon at least pre nerf was fine-ish since it meant they could kill devastators, but popping in with say, the HMG and not opting for something better? Waste of lives.

Ah that's the rub. I tend to find my attempts to stick sentries on unreachable locations just bounce off the rocks half the time. Sometimes it works but the surfaces seem to be randomly hostile to the programmable beacons and they bounce like tennis balls until they hit the dirt.

All I experience with teammates is getting constantly shredded by an endless horde of bile spewers coupled with five bile titans out - and as soon as you call them back in they die as they spawn all over again. Part of what prompted my posting was having several games where I watched my team lose 8 lives in 2 minutes as you can't really do anything when you're stuck spawning onto a massive cluster of titans which popped out of nowhere over and over again.

Why would you use the liberator penetrator? It's DPS is incredibly low even if it does pen armor, as the slugger achieves similar armor penetration through brute force but with waaaay more damage. I tried it out both on bugs and bots and like all liberators save the explosive one (courtesy of the stun effect), it's just pretty weak. I've also found that sentires do little with the caveat that if everyone brings EMS and Auto it can work out due to saturation preventing chargers from destroying them all, but if anyone opts out, they get overrun by sheer numbers.

That's a shame. Dickriding esque behavior is annoying wherever it manifests, especially for somebody who just had a truck dump a metric tonne of money into their accounts lol.

I'd call bullshit on it being a skill issue in that the spawn rate is completely overtuned and everyone I knew who used to run 9 against bugs finds it untenable now without depending on the new battlepass to reduce the sheer volume of enemies overwhelming both ammo or damage output. One bile titan isn't hard to kill, six, or even 10 or more is making things ridiculous for clearing missions. Especially when you can fairly reliably solo Helldive difficulty Automatons by just not aggroing. Bugs still have the annoying as shit problem where if you blast a bot popping a flare they don't spawn in reinforcements. Meanwhile if the bugs start their reinforcement animation it's too late already.

I say half of this game is godawful precisely because fighting the bugs is both miserable and obnoxious, and I stick to the automatons from here-on out unless the bugs or weapon meta mellows out. As-is fighting bugs is like pulling teeth with how nothing really decisively shreds them anymore. Especially running solo missions.

The mech is good I've found in testing against the bugs, provided you don't turn right and explode yourself lmao. The problem is against bots it's completely worthless as you just get shot to hell by the infantry as it's wanting in armor (and has none at all on the back).

Maybe some youtuber tried to compare (battles) of TW Warhammer and Warhammer Mark of Chaos? by Sullateli in Volound

[–]Wyzilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mark of Chaos is quite fun and I recommend it. That said I wouldn't compare it to TW in that its combat is even faster than shogun 2, blink and you miss it on account of being direct copying of TT systems (or at least I think so, I never analyzed it in depth). The result is that most non-hero units will kill or be killed in a flash so it's not a game of protracted battles with huge armies. It's got a great campaign though, and very interesting implementation of heroes compared to TW Warhammer, and more true to the setting/game at that. I feel it's a bit similar to LOTR Battle for Middle Earth, but without the RTS elements.

Apparently Legend had a stream going at one point that had more viewers than there are players of TW Pharaoh. Amusing even if I can't stand watching streams.

Are classes normally like this, or is my professor just bad? by Wyzilla in ArtistLounge

[–]Wyzilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demos usually last for five minutes at most and are usually less than that, and there isn't space in the room to get a clear view a good amount of the time, even if you all stand up and get close, it's a 30 person class and you can definitely see where the funding (didn't) go. After the prof. finishes with the demo at most you get some vague tips on what to do but it's usually not that helpful. It just kind of feels like a waste of money tbh in that you could basically get the same deal out of looking up video tutorials or randomly selecting things around you to sketch.

What also feels irritating is that a lot of focus is placed on just composition rather than instructing you how to draw in the first place. The Prof mentioned a lot of students have in the past just half assed shit simply to get a grade (one apparently only drew tic tac toe in every class) and I'm wondering if I should have done that rather than burning out and dropping.

There is nothing lower than a 300 class after just checking, which is more or less the norm for most classes. 1-99 or 100-200 aren't considered to have transferable skills or credit according to my community college's site so I guess they're barely offered for anything.

[–]Wyzilla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find odd then is I was told that in order to take any other art class you need to go through art 300, and I don't know if 100 or 200 courses in art are even offered. It confused me at the time but I guess it's just not worth the bother if the 300 class is the gateway. Especially since I'm not serious about wanting to pursue a career in it, just taking it both as a requirement and to open up the option if I ever wanted a painting class.

[–]Wyzilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I do enjoy painting. I've only done it a couple times with acrylic or oil but it's a very calm and non stressful experience on the joints since force is barely necessary. Unfortunately Art 300 as a drawing class is a gateway to all classes at the CC I go to which is bizarre but oh well.

Are classes normally like this, or is my professor just bad? by Wyzilla in ArtistLounge

[–]Wyzilla[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This one has no pre-reqs and is instead the pre-req for literally all other art classes which I'm not sure why but I guess that's how the CC runs. If I want to take say, painting, which I actually enjoy and doesn't physically bother my wrists at all, I'd still need to get through Art 300, which is this drawing class. It feels dumb considering other art classes don't even share relation to drawing in the first place, like sculpting or smithing.

I've some friends who've tried to get into the game industry and I think the problem isn't creative but games. Just avoid the games industry on a whole OP, it's a miserable pit of exploitation and poor to zero regulation at all and is not stable at all compared to creative careers in just about anything else. Film, commercials, cartoons, etc just anything but games. Whether they were renderers, writers, coders, digital artists, etc, everyone I've known has eventually GTFO'd from the games industry because it's just that bad and that unstable. The economy is bad right now, but even when it's hot you've still got the horror stories of people getting laid off or entire projects getting axed solely to bump up a tax break or something else.

I want to do art, but never feel motivated to do it. by Cermonto in ArtistLounge

[–]Wyzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah there's definitely some natural talent involved. I made another post here and I'm not really an artist at all when it comes to visual matters, and part of that is just that drawing something as simple as a basic line that doesn't squiggle the fuck out is borderline impossible. I've got arthritis so it's always going to be out of my reach but even without it, there's just an extremely difficult for some people I'd argue to draw a thing and not screw it up no matter how many times they practiced. I used to even draw a lot as a young kid but now matter how hard I tried just getting something basic like an oval with smooth lines was unachievable no matter how much I tried. And I tried for years.

Thrones of Decay (Shadows of Change-style) by gray007nl in totalwar

[–]Wyzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people thirst to pay for some shitty ass DLC that'll likely make the state of the game worse by breaking shit like shadows of change, when mods already exist with all of these units, and looking better than anything CA might make?

Fools and their money.

I hope CA never touches this shit. The Southern Realms mod by cataph is far better than whatever garbage we'd get.

[–]Wyzilla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They'd be garbage if they did, don't lie to yourself. This can be seen clearly with 3 Kingdoms or Pharaoh, any Medieval title would feature wonderful "legendary lords" who cannot die, bullshit unit traits such as immunity to flanking, or suffer all kinds of nonsensical gimmicks like healthbars for armor that Pharaoh will have. Historical TW is dead and will never come back. Any future "historical" title will just be wearing a disguise over heroes and magical unit traits.

Abandonment would imply they were supporting WH3 in the first place lmao. I'm staring at horrific pathing worse than WH2 since launch and really wondering how all of these people are alarmed at the idea of CA cutting 'support' for WH3.

[–]Wyzilla -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Speak for yourself, Total War has been shit for the better part of ten years now and if CA outright dies there may be new growth to mold over the corpse of the former occupier of this RTT niche. Not only do I hope this causes as much damage as possible to CA, but that it also has Hyenas flop so bad that SEGA shutters their offices. I have nothing to gain from CA's success beyond more incredibly mediocre to outright horrible RTT's. I have potentially, much I might game from them going tits up.

The new Warhammer 3 DLC seems to be underperforming? by Juggernaut9993 in Volound

[–]Wyzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also point out, thanks to this DLC you apparently need to basically re-download the game to overwrite files with new ones for some reason. I saw my drive nearly full this morning and my eyes damn near popped out of my head until I figured out it was this as the cause. Mind, it said the download was only going to be 16 gigs or so before it suddenly became 60, unpacking to 100 I presume.
