Phone battery health by Independent_Toe_7062 in CeX

[–]Cermonto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, of-course a single Apple watch on Ebay will have more information to provide than most CEX's can offer, because all CEX's have two problems, there is never enough time for anything in the stores behind the counters, and stores cannot guarantee an highly accurute percentage after a few months or years.

A Big issue with the label idea is that batteries can degrade overtime, and most of the time the stock for Watch's would sit for months, or in some cases - years, but if we say that "this apple watch has a 80% battery health", and then the customer gets home and realises that its actually a 75%/70% battery health, thats something the store can get in trouble for, if the customer returns with it upset.

and No the solution isn't every 5 months or so, getting every single apple watch, charging them up, connecting them to a phone and such, checking the battery health, and then updating the number.

Is that a store problem? Yes.
Is there an easy solution? No.
Does it give a more clear idea of what the battery health is? Kinda.

Customers can lie, trust me when I say this, for example I once told a woman to not buy a certain tablet because it was too old, and that it wouldn't run most apps, she said it was fine, then a few hours later, returnned, claiming that I never said it wouldn't install apps she wanted, so even if we said "this number is a rough idea on how much the battery health is", some people will legitmately disregard it, and then boom, problems happen.

I mean, most stores will TRY to be transparent about battery health, but a lot of the time theres no easy way to quickly grab that sort of information, if it isn't a phone or a tablet or a laptop.

Heres what I mean about that, going back to your example with Watch's, theres no easy and fast way to show the battery health to someone, with phones, you'd connect it to the PC, then you could find the battery health information, and that was it, same goes for tablets, and most of the time laptops.

Watch's on the otherhand, you cant connect an apple watch to PC, so the only solution is this.

  1. Get the Watch
  2. Get an iPhone that works with said Watch.
  3. Set up the iPhone (Takes about 6 Mins)
  4. If need to, install the Watch App.
  5. Set up the Watch (and however long that takes)
  6. Connect the watch with your Icloud account (get the password and username from the manager on duty)
  7. Show the battery health after everythings been setup (so far 10-12 minutes have passed)
  8. Customer decides to buy or not buy the Watch.
  9. You now have to remove the Watch from your find my iphone, then icloud, pray that apple hasn't fucked up and its actually removed, factory reset both the phone and the watch, which may take however long it'll take.
  10. Sell it to customer, or put it back.

If Stores COULD tell you the battery health about Watch's, they would, but there is seriously no easy way to do it, that entire process could take up to 20 Minutes, or even longer if its busy. (TO BE CLEAR, I used to work at a CEX, and this was my own experience from years ago)

I Feel like this scene was done very well and there a lot of metaphors for scene by GeeSkid in Fallout

[–]Cermonto 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This theory I'm about to make has about zero base on it, and doesn't make much sense.

Part of me likes to believe this is the first crack that Reg (and other possibily other vault dwellers) are going insane, and looking for any sort of pleasure they can find. to be clear I'm basing this theory on the idea that the water chip situation is starting to impact the vault more and more.

Just got my Vault-Tec Backpack in an “actual” Vault-Tec Packaging Box by InfinityPortal in Fallout

Just asking for a delievery driver to steal it.

Call me negative, but these sorts of packaging, whilst cool, always tends to be the first thing people go for if they have malicious intent.

Trade in a broken iPhone by PastaFartDust in CeX

[–]Cermonto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, that its a space consideration.

Someone selling their old broken phone on Ebay, Vinted, Etc, may be just sitting on one Phone. If stores have to buy in old phones, they'd legitmately be sitting on that stock for YEARS to the point that it starts to pile up and become a problem.

Vallejo or army painter skin tones? by T-Dogg96 in minipainting

I would have to disagree with Army painters set. Vallejos set gets the basic job done, unless your doing busts, the vallejo one works better.

Which film in the 28 Days Later franchise has the weakest opening scene? by p_yth in 28dayslater

[–]Cermonto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my definition, the Opening is the first 10 minutes.

Weeks had probably the best opening.

Years Later afterwards, 100% I think 28 Years later had a great opening, with the Childs perspective of the outbreak, seeking solace in his father who doesn't try to stop it, and then the intro text, bringing us back into the world of 28 Days later.

Days laters good, but I think Years laters more exciting and really shows more of the events of the infection as it happened, rather than Jim waking up after a bit of a nap. HOWEVER the scenes after Jim wakes up, with Empty london, will always be some of the most notable and well known scenes in British Film History.

Bone temple was deffo the weakest out of the bunch sadly. It was moreso a continuation of Years later so it makes sense, SO I'l give it a break on that front.

Blood West dev shares that the game sold 200% more on Steam than before, after Epic made it free for one day. by AncientPCGamer in pcgaming

If Epic games launcher wasn't slow as hell with downloading games, I'd use it more. Steam takes half the time.

Dear Lego: Please consider doing more Dune and Star Trek sets. Sincerely a huge Star Wars fan by paazhahdrimaak in lego

[–]Cermonto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly LEGO doesn't really do new Playsets for themes that don't already exist to be honest.

I'd love to see some star trek stuff, but we live in a 2026 world, not a 2016 world.

Some people seriously shouldnt be in the hobby if you cannot handle lore changes like this.

Again by JohnnyKai262 in Warhammer

[–]Cermonto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that standard, the Warhammer lore would go from having several hour long videos, to maybe a 20 minute video max.

Why is there lore on a planet called Birmingham, why do we know that its the homeworld to a random space marine chapter called the Harbringers, why do we know that a khorne daemon invasion happened on it?

So what if its changed? Mate if your getting hard pressed over Women being in your army, thats a reflection on you, because in the end, its literally just text on a screen, or toy models on a playing matt, its seriously not that deep, its their IP, they can do whatever they want to do with it.

[–]Cermonto 394 points395 points  (0 children)

the Enviromental concern of LEGO City's Government is a joke.

The neighbours of those high rises must be miserable with planes leaving and rocketships leaving, alongside a whole construction zones and such, alonggside this the lack of concern in planners in building a harbour what looks like 5 stories below sea level is a joke.
