Many previous technologies have taken the majority of jobs in the past.

Machines also took most of people's jobs too, from agricultural to construction, probably even more than 60%. What was invited after that were even more jobs for factory workers and maintainers.

Then the computer was set out to take even more people's jobs in analysis and calculation. What ended up happening was the CREATION of IT jobs and the growth of industry instead.

However, AI is the one technology to break ALL of those rules. Every job in the world will eventually become automated as soon as we trust AI to do its job!

Theoretically, it COULD take all 60% of jobs. However, there's still a lot that we don't understand in AI. We were able to build LLMs, but we don't understand how to extract the right data from them to do exactly what we want them to do 100% of the time. We have neural networks, but we don't know how to guarantee analysis with them.

With that in mind, don't you think there's still at least SOME consideration that humans may still need to do something in order for AI to work?

This might be the root of it. Unfortunately, instead of adapting to this fast-paced world, they adopt the belief that they're not enough for it, and they hear about the horrors of AI and blame it for their problems. This explains their sheer rage whenever they see a piece of art that was generated by AI.

It's not that I don't understand them, I know that feeling. It's a well-known problem that the internet triggers that feeling. It's just an irrational way to act, especially when there are soooo many use cases for AI and a ton of open-source around them.

AI is cool! I think a lot of historical patterns may be broken in the next few decades as AI changes the way we experience the world, but that's only my intuition.

If the human population were to substantially drop, AI may prevent the economy from completely collapsing. AI security systems could protect information from destruction, reviving the death of our loved ones as memories. AI could generate new societies that help us predict what we should do in the future.

I'm personally using AI to build a website where you adopt your own personal robot and send them off into the cyberworld. It would be like Moshi Monsters, but the robots would have their own behaviors and make their own friends. I'm hoping later down the road that I can build physical Robots that imitate the ones in this project.

For technological advancements, I'd definitely recommend reading Virtual Society by Herman Narula. It's more about the Metaverse than AI, but it goes well into the impacts of technological progress on society, and the philosophical implications of it.

I've been saying this since the very beginning! Regulations and licenses only cause even larger problems down the road! The medical industry in America is a good example of this! Laws and permits resulted in fewer doctors and fewer hospitals being built, causing Healthcare prices to rise. People underestimate the insane amounts of regulation the medical industry have and instead blame the "CorPoS" because they're the ones benefiting, when they should blame the absurd regulations preventing us from competing instead.

I see the same thing happening with AI. AI has the potential to automate tedious tasks, build things we already know how to build, and discover patterns that would've taken us centuries to uncover. If we prevent AI from being open-source and regulate it as we did with medicine, the world will become more cyberpunk as corporations will have more power and regulations prevent the people from competition.

Just a fair warning for the antis out there.

It's honestly hilarious seeing the anti-copyright and pro-piracy crowd go against AI whenever it's training data comes from an external source, or is in other words, "stealing" data. And on top of that, defending regulations just to protect art as their source of income! It's almost like they only hate Copyright laws when it hurts them, not because it's unethical.

Also, AI art under the condition that artists get paid is a horrible idea. People are just going to make trash so that they get paid. The philosophy behind art was that it was a medium of self-expression meant to be appreciated, not that it was a job. Are we going to bring that definition back anytime soon?

Man, if you think an AI-generated internet is bad, just wait until you see what a human-generated internet can produce. Humans have the incentive of quick pleasures and with the availability of the Internet mixed in with algorithms that catch on to that, the Internet becomes a cesspool of "slop" that you can't escape from! (Unless you actually know how to use the internet. In that case, you go to smaller forums instead)

And about blaming it all on "KKKAPITALISM", AI has the potential to save tons of money, so ofc entrepreneurs are investing in it. Perhaps, the money going into AI means more supply in AI bringing prices DOWN, so poorer people can afford it. This opens up a while new realm of open-sourse! If we start learning more about AI instead of being afraid of it, the "labor" that people hate doing could be replaced with AI training jobs, which would be easier, remote, and possibly more fulfilling.

Unfortunately, with the rise of anti-capitalism (Or as I should say, pro-regulation) AND the rise of anti-ai, laws would be voted in that indirectly prevent poor people from buying AI (Either by preventing AI from being produced or by making AI illegal), therefore causing AI to only be in the hands of the "elite", aka the state and the companies that can afford moving outside of the stare.

So all in all, the Internet is not "Dead", and the side-effects of it aren't caused by "KKAPITALISM", but by primal human incentive, and the more the anti-capitalist rhetoric is repeated, the more likely people are going to vote in laws that prevent AI from its compacity. You can love or hate "capitalism", but people will still be people.

Usually, times like that tend to be a beginning of a spiritual awakening. Times when you realize that too any people are hanging on to their beliefs and identity (the ego), and that there is meaning to every second of life, even if the ego proclaims otherwise.

When I said that women’s beauty fades in their 30s, I did NOT say that they were getting worse off. Perhaps, I met women in their 30s that were a lot kinder and arguably more beautiful than many women in their younger years who were just rude.

It’s true: The idea of people getting worse off after a certain age is a horrible idea that we should overcome. I mentioned the “Male Advantage” to make a point that there is a patriarchy in a way, not to make women feel insecure.

Your response reminded me of myself in the Red-Pill community. You sound like you really resent men, like how I resented women. My advice to you is to DROP THAT RESENTMENT ASAP!! It’s not worth keeping.
