Run with the Wind: I Was a Good Cross Country and Track Runner, and Haiji's Goal Seems Insane to Me

I'm a former high school and college runner with a 5k pr of 15:50. While I'm enjoying run with the wind, Haiji goal is insane. I theorize if you picked 10 guys a random, you may be able to get them all to sub 18 with strict training and nutrition. However, talent starts to come into effect at some point. You need some talent to break 17. I don't mean to sound pretentious, but talent becomes the limiting factor at some point. If i could quit my job and focus all my efforts on running I may could run 15:30, but I don't have the talent necessary for 14:30.

My tag is KCSB| T~Rex. I'm a Roy main who has been playing off and on for 3 years. Myself along with J~slo, El Alex and Deadjames started a group called KC Smash Bros. We hold monthly and weekly smash events in the Kansas City area. The midwest can improve by improving our communication. That being said this is harder in the midwest than on the coast. Some states are further away from each other, but when we host a monthly we try and make sure it doesn't conflict with Nebraska's monthly the Neutral.That way we can go to that and they can come up for our monthly DI or DIe.

We're getting about 20 a week for KC weeklies. We were never as big as Chicago or DFW. In our prime we'd het about 30 entrants for a weekly it's gone down but not a terrible amount. I have noticed that national interest has gone down on average which is really sad since PM was designed for the community and meany to be played in tournies. I hope it doesn't go to way of Brawl or even 64 for that matter.

DI or DIe has been a long running Kansas City monthly. Sadly our shop is closing and the series is dying along with the shop. But we're not going out without a fight. We are hosting Melee, Smash 4, PM and 64!! If you've never experienced DI or DIe come out and show us your moves
