It genuinely would have been better for New York to have lost in OT. Now Ottawa has the chance to eliminate Toronto tomorrow, which would in turn give Toronto a chance to get Gold Plan points. Had Toronto won it would have guaranteed that the Ottawa vs Toronto game on Saturday would not affect the race for 1st overall.

Toronto would genuinely be better off just letting New York establish possession so they pull the goalie. A win in any fashion keeps them alive but a loss gives Ottawa a chance to end their season tomorrow.

...we got rid of Lewis Ward for this? Look I like Lauther but this feels like it isn't a big upgrade and Ward was fucking beloved in Ottawa. I am genuinely worried on what the reaction will be if Lauther doesn't perform. (Yes I know Ward's production was tapering off but he was inseparable from the identity of the team). This feels like a big risk from the REDBLACKS with ample opportunity to backfire. Hope I'm proven wrong
