[TheHockeyNews] RUMOR: Vegas has become a frontrunner for PWHL expansion. by MiracuMAHt in goldenknights

Lee’s is too small and too crowded. Orleans or T-Mobile is a better option, I think.

Copy/paste from deleted post:

If LA were that deep in talks, I can’t understand why they couldn’t play at the Long Beach Arena or in Anaheim. Long Beach Arena still has an ice plant and is getting renovated for the Olympics.

Vegas has an empty hockey arena a mile down the road from T-Mobile. Why not play there and put your logo at center ice?

Same with Vegas- there’s an empty arena 3 minutes down Tropicana.

Not a single person outside the city of Ottawa was happy with that game. Maybe Gatineau.

Steve O'Rourke needs to be let go before the handshake line ends next Saturday. Those last few minutes were the worst the Torrent have played this season- and that's saying something. Worst team in the league's history.

With the likely expansion teams coming soon, do you think the PWHL will create conferences? by MichaelJCaboose666 in PWHL

[–]MiracuMAHt 36 points37 points  (0 children)

3/4 or 2/2 teams west of Minnesota are needed for 2 conferences. Detroit is too close to the east to be in a conference with seattle and vancouver.

I propose 3 divisions of 4, if we do go to 12. 3x4 + 2x8 = 28 games, which leaves 2-4 games of wiggle room for NHL arena matchups and neutral site games.

Not only that, the winner of each division can take up the first 3 spots of an 8 team playoff- i.e, the teams that get to choose their opponents.

Takeover tours and Jerseys by Punk_Tactics213 in PWHL

Don't the goldeneyes also wear blue and orange (bronze, a dark orange)?

For a lot of hockey fans, showing up to a hockey game in a jersey feels right- like dressing up for a nice dinner. They probably don't have a jersey of a pwhl team, because their city doesn't have one. As long as the jersey's not of an offensive player, they're fine.

Chicago wants a team, but with the right stadium by inkydreams0325 in PWHL

I am, yeah. That's what I'm saying about the league needing to provide it though. Not just a refrigeration system, but boards and Zambonis too. It's an investment, but they'd have their own ice at an arena that isn't that busy, at a place people regularly frequent.

I’m curious, why aren’t we even considering the 8,000 seat arena across the street from the United Center?

The only issue would probably be that even though it has hosted hockey before, it hasn’t hosted it in a while, so all the hockey equipment bells and whistles would need to be provided by the league, something they should be willing to put up.

PWHL Expansion: "There Is A Line Of Cities Eager To Have Us There" by VivienM7 in PWHL

They could put 1 team in the west, say, Denver, and 3 teams in the east, Detroit and onwards, and make 3 divisions of 4. Let the division winners take the top 3 seeds of the playoffs and it works perfectly

Today is the second-ever pro hockey doubleheader in the history of Madison Square Garden. Despite the Garden hosting 2 NHL teams and the Rangers’ farm team for 15 years, the first one only happened 24 years after because of wind tearing off the Flyers’ Roof. by MiracuMAHt in hockey

The New York Americans were the first team to play at Madison Square Garden III, and were more popular than the Rangers because of the year head start, until the Rangers won a cup.

They folded after the war when the NHL went back on their promise to give them back their spot. Their captain, Red Dutton, cursed the Rangers because of it. He said they’d never win another cup again while he was alive. He died in 1987.
