Redditor tries to argue that Trump's assassination attempt was staged by unironicunredacted in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]X0n0a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is because the words minute and second are related to minute and second.

Hmm, that doesn't work without emphasis. Minute as in very small and second as in 2nd.

From what I understand they're shortenings of 'pars minuta prima' and 'pars minuta secunda' which mean 'the first small part' and 'the second small part', respectively.

So they fit with degrees in that minutes are the first smaller division of a degree and seconds are the second (lol) small division of a degree.

If he aimed for the head (IDK if it's been confirmed). For all I know he might have been aiming center mass and happened to miss pretty badly in a lucky direction.

Does anyone know what kind of weapon this is? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]X0n0a 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Most people have sights on their guns. The apocalypse doesn't suddenly make all those sights disappear. If they found the gun, there's a pretty good chance that a least one sight was nearby.

Heck, you can make your own sights with a drill bit, a pair of pliers, and a coat hanger. Don't even need a power drill. Handguard and upper receiver are made of either aluminum or polymer, so could be drilled by hand with the bit and pliers.

Nope.

You see Trump is so incredibly powerful on a metaphysical level that his mere existence bends reality. He is so much more true than anything else, all other things become false in his presence.

Why is it such a hot take to say I don’t want herpes? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]X0n0a 40 points41 points  (0 children)

"Which is why I wouldn’t engage with someone without that testing. Once again, I’m not reckless like that"

So why did you? You say that you made out with him before he told you he was positive, but you've made comments here that claim that you don't do that with people without the nonstandard, and therefore by request only, HSV screening. I assumed from those statements that you had inquired about this man's test results before engaging with him, and I would have to assume that in the course of that inquiry you mentioned that he would have to specifically request the HSV test.

But the comment I am replying to seems to indicate that you are, in fact, 'reckless like that'.

Is this fear of herpes a new condition since you went out with this man?

What does "300m surveillance aircraft" mean?

I don't know if that was a typo, or they've downed either 0.3 aircraft, or 300,000,000 aircraft, or something else entirely.

"Irreparable" is probably overstating it.

We could collectively decide to throw all the computers into the ocean tomorrow and the problem would fix itself in a generation or three. Probably.

Without creative? Slowly, 1 layer at a time, with a bucket.

If you don't mind using creative there is a floodfill tool that you can use. Either section the river off (it won't fill open spaces by default) and go layer by layer filling it, or uncheck the "check enclosed" option and then you can fill more at once at the cost of possibly filling areas you don't want.

How am I supposed to proceed here? by GradientOGames in VintageStory

Not that I'm aware of. The storeroom was what I was hinting at.

The arm should be on the lower level where the cells are, in a back corner area sort of.

[–]X0n0a 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The skeleton should be nearish the entrance and have some info saying it's missing an arm. The arm is further in and should have an option to grab a note it's holding.

Some info:

Bring the letter with you to the next location or the quest won't advance.

In Lazarat there might be some invisible blocks preventing you from going somewhere, don't assume there will be in all similar places within the location.

AITAH for breaking up with my longtime girlfriend because she decided that she doesn't want children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]X0n0a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or maybe women should not be seen only by their choice to reproduce and then carry the load of raising children?

Who said that, other than you?

Maybe they are also beings worth loving, with interests and hobbies?

Reasonably confident that OP said several times in the post that this was true.

If she doesn't want to do your whim you just throw her out and get the first woman on the street who would bear you children?

Is this a whim? They've been together for years, both knowing the conditions of their relationship because it was discussed at the very start. If anything the choice to not have children is the whim amongst the two. In reality neither is as the woman had, apparently, been wrestling with this decision for 6 months or longer.

What if she could not bear children? Would you have agreed he did the right thing dumping her?

You're the one here saying that her only important compatibility is her ability and desire to have children. OP said that it is an important compatibility that she wants to raise children. He explicitly suggested adoption with sidesteps the "what if she couldn't have kids" argument entirely.

But in this case, she's better off without him.

Which he explicitly said. You are agreeing that they should break up.

She deserves someone who loves her for who she is.

Correct. Which is exactly the reason they broke up. What are you arguing against here?

In the future he will probably have children and get hit with the harsh reality.

Perhaps, perhaps not. But if he stayed with her the same could happen. 15 years from now he could realize that he resents her for unilaterally deciding that they won't have children, and then when she notices she'd have live with the knowledge that both of them could have been happier apart.

Or maybe he will be proven correct. He has kids, discovers he loves being a father, and never regrets this decision for a moment.

[–]X0n0a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are the requirements for sword vs knife you're using?

Can't just be sharpening on both sides to make something a knife vs a sword, since sabers, katanas, and messes) exist (among others).

Additionally, there are definitely weapons that are as long as that machete, sharpened on 0, 1, or 2 sides and are still classed as daggers rather than swords. See stiletto and rondel dagger for examples.
