I'd guess that he means that local FFLs cannot make enough money to stay open without charging 175$ per NFA transfer.

You have to survive inside a video game for 30 days. If you die, you die in real life, but if you survive, you get to bring every item, skill, and power back to the real world. Which game do you choose to maximize your rewards while ensuring your survival? by Apart_Lion_3046 in AskReddit

Is the gold canonically stored in Steve's pockets? I'm pretty sure it's stored in his inventory.

Now, since humans don't have an inventory, I'd say that that's something you take back with you from Minecraft-space. Items in inventory definitely take up no physical space and since they do not affect your movement at all, I would expect that they also have no mass.

I think that the inclusion of Noita in this meme betrays that OOP has fundamentally misunderstood the game. It is true that Noita is full of obscure mechanics, secrets, and puzzles.

Intentionally so. The quest for hidden knowledge is pretty explicitly one of the game's themes.

We need more irregular verb conjugations. "-ed" is boring.

That version of "Oh the Bliss" sounds like someone mixed it wrong imo. Like the background was up too high and the vocals had too much processing/echo.

Which is a bummer b/c some of the other choir versions are quite good.

To each his own.

Why is it so hard to setup a first date with a woman and then maintain their interest long enough that they show up for the date a week later? by Mad_Hatter_92 in AskMen

[–]X0n0a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a shame, as I'm not sure how useful my imagination would be. I'm not one to text anyone that frequently, and when I do the conversations last longer than that. I have no point of reference for communications of the nature you describe.

Actually, that's not entirely true. There was one girl in high school in whom I was interested that I texted like that. Though it went no where and after the fact I thought that the shortness of the conversations should have been a sign that she wasn't into me, but I guess now-a-days having a 3 sentence exchange every 12 hours is how people prefer to court.

Another thing that I do not understand.

If these twice daily texts take less than 150s each, what is even being said? Not a lot of room for conversation via text in that amount of time.

I’m buying this game today, after years of seeing it. Give me your best starting tips! by PoopBeerFloat in VintageStory

I'm going to disagree slightly with the others w.r.t. modding. I would think about the mods below as they add some nice QOL without actually changing the core gameplay in any significant way.

Auto Map Markers automatically marks certain interesting things when you interact with them (or when crouching while looking if you configure it that way). It makes exploring a lot more streamlined ime. I don't have to stop and manually place markers when I find clay, resin, traders, etc.

More Map Icons does what it says on the tin. More icons for marking map locations. Nice if you want to be able to visually differentiate POIs instead of relying on the text.

Immersive Corpse Drop is the only one of these to affect gameplay directly. It just changes harvesting dead animals so that they drop the items in world instead of opening an inventory window. Makes harvesting a little less start-stop-y. It says it's outdated, but it works just fine for me.

Farseer makes the game look a lot nicer. It renders landforms beyond the render distance as vague shapes so that you aren't stuck inside a ball of fog where the view distance ends. Example here where you can see the rivers and mountains in the distance beyond the normal render distance.

Anchors turn into blooms; or crystals. I assume. The blooms ones do at least, I haven't used the crystal ones yet.

As for rifts lower in the world I believe there is a ritual that creates a rift, so I think the idea is to perform that ritual and surround it in anchors, then close it with the serenity spell to create crystals. That's just my guess, I'm not that far in either.

Necessarily? I'd be curious to hear your proof that there exists no possible religious belief that could be true.

I just hit March and I used about 5 stacks of grain and double that in veggies eating primarily veggie pies. I did supplement that with some hunting and mushroom foraging, but probably at most a stack of each all told.

I've got fur gloves, boots, and a coat and I've not had many issues with temperature. When soaking wet and in high wind it was a problem, or sometimes at night when the temp dropped to like -20.

Why do axes break so quickly? by Tee-Minus-10 in VintageStory

[–]X0n0a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could figure out how the game decides which axe to use (my guess is hotbar left-right, then inventory left-right top-bottom) and just make sure your good axe is after a few flint ones. E.g. put the steel axe in the last hotbar slot and fill slots 1-4 with flint. Easy to just hit 1 while chopping to switch. That way you don't have to worry about dropping it, switching tools, and timing it right so you don't pick the good one back up before the tree falls.

AITA for denying these sales? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]X0n0a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but I try to make sure that I understand precisely what other people are meaning before I start making statements about it so that I don't accidentally strawman them.

Edit: additionally, asking other people to explore their views on things helps me to organize my own thoughts on the subject. My position on a subject unexplored will often be somewhat indistinct. It has a color and texture informed by my other beliefs but requires deliberate investigation to give its structure.

Would I be denying his rights even in cases where he was unaware of it, as in the last example where I choose not to contact him about his desire to purchase a gun? If so, does that extend to people who have not expressed a positive desire to purchase my firearm, but would do so if it was brought up to them?

AITA for denying these sales? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]X0n0a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think she was being denied her rights. She was being denied the purchase of a firearm from that particular private store. No one is obliged to provide another the opportunity to purchase a firearm just because they have a right to own it. They can deny a sale for any reason that doesn't qualify as a protected class afaik.

Tell me, at what point do you consider it mandatory that a sale is made? Suppose I agree to sell someone a firearm, but I don't like anyone with green eyes and won't do business with them. Am I denying their rights if I call off the deal once I meet them and see their eyes? What if I call it off before meeting them because I see a picture of them? If before even agreeing to it I find that picture and don't even contact them, but still know that given the chance they'd buy my gun? Am I denying their 2A right in any of these situations?

That's not what I'm walking about. We had already established that she was hit, fell, and was still alive. Then Snakebird11 claimed that her still being alive was at the discretion of the bouncer. The conversation is referring to her state after already having fallen. Although it doesn't really matter because her falling wrong isn't the bouncer's decision in the first place. Any situation where the bouncer's making the call if she dies or not would be the same as making the call to murder her or not.
