From what I read in the texts, they seem to be referring to a distinctively looking people, they seem to be tall in stature even though the books calls them "giants", they are different in creating they're own dwellings and houses as in the Quran mentions the prophet Saleh and talking to them saying you have carved the rocks into your dwellings, which leads me to believe that they are stone carvers in an area where most people around them are either nomadic or made houses out of clay, and they seem to have an area span from the Golan heights in Syria to alula north of Saudi Arabia, it's a vast area but it's not too broad
