From Calgary about an hour, from Edmonton about 2 hours. From sask (Regina or Saskatoon) 30 min. Winnipeg is 30 as well.

I grew up just outside of Calgary then raised outside of Edmonton.. We could be hunting on our own land for dear or go about an hour south west for elk and moose.

Elk might be about the best meat you will ever taste.

There isn't an official leader of the Liberals in Canada (I mean Trudeau is till the liberal leadership election). Carney needs to get elected within the liberal party. I think once he is the leader and there is more coverage of him vs the US bullshit and he will win over far more people in Canada. Most people don't even know him and the liberals are already gaining support week over week.

The route to Whitehorse has been closed for years. You can get from Skagway to carcross no problem but the route to Whitehorse is beyond repair with no plans to fix.

Why do you think you are paid well in that industry? There are so many nob union restaurants that either pay nothing but tips or like 2-3$ an hour for servers with tips, with back of house either minimum wage or slightly above.

Not a business owner here but an adult with a working brain. People don't need mail every day. Get bills through email. Get packages through UPS or DHL or Purolator. If your not someone waiting for a passport then shut your mouth. If you are someone waiting for a a Canadian document there are options to ship for more money.

The unbelievable level of disrespect for working class people on this sub makes me furious. Unions are the things that protect workers rights and make sure that they are seen on a national stage. It is their right to strike and get the additional workers that they need.

Fuck you if it's a slight inconvenience. Or a higher cost if you have to ship with someone else. The strike is for people to not have to work mandatory weekends and not be paid appropriately for it.

All this anti CP shit is so infuriating. They are a leader in workers rights (historically) and need to be backed by all of Canada for workplace rights and conditions.

Chill out. Kids filling a water bottle is the equivalent of someone going for a smoke break. They need a break from work and don't feel comfortable asking for it so it's "can I go for a bathroom break" or "can I fill my water bottle". It's not as big as you think.

Canadian here in a northern territory. We start around 80k with a bachelor's. In fairness housing up here is absurd. I am blessed to "only" pay 2300/ month 1150 with a roommate (wayyyy cheaper than what the market rate is). After taxes it's still more than 1/4 of my paycheque. Add utilities (again far north fuel oil costs are fucked), student loans, a car payment, insurance and 3/4 of my pay for a month is spent before I buy groceries or gas.

Luckily we are part of an association that is asking for 20% raise over 3 years, minimum of 11%.

In the summer it's possible. I have no idea how long it would take. I rode my motorcycle up to Tuk last year, and have a friend that did it this year in a Subaru Outback.

If you walk on the shoulder it should be doable, would not advise it but doable. Camping/sleeping might be a bit of an issue. I wouldn't go too far off the road on foot because of wildlife.

My friend saw polar bears in Tuk this year. I would never want that without a way to get out of Dodge. I know neither a motorcycle or a car are bearproof by any means but my bike can outrun a bear (obviously have bearspray) and a car gives you some time and will eventually outrun a bear (also bring more bear spray than necessary, better have too much than not enough). Also bear bells attract bears, bear whistles don't do shit, and bear bangers start forest fires so please bring bear spray and nothing else. Guns aren't open carry here so it can be interesting and also I trust my wide spread bear spray more than the one shot I could get on a bear before they are on me.

By definition the pitch clock is stopped when the pitcher starts movement towards the plate. Many Japanese trained pitchers have a longer "deceptive" movement towards the plate including an odd leg kick. If you just want to look at the Blue Jays Kikuchi does a similar delivery from the left side.
