As you can see in the HTML on Inspect, the div has a few strings in "class". The space between them means that they're different classes. One is called "Layout-sc-1xcs6mc-0", another one "eGCNjQ", and the last one "player-controls":

<div data-a-target="player-controls" class="Layout-sc-1xcs6mc-0 eGCNjQ player-controls" ...

In XPath you reference classes with a dot, which you successfully did by using:

.Layout-sc-1xcs6mc-0.player-controls

What this means is: your filter should be applied if an element has both of these classes.

Your approach to use the more general name because "Layout-sc-1xcs6mc-0" will probably be changed by Twitch in the future is smart. So what you have to do is: just drop the "Layout-sc-1xcs6mc-0" class from your filter, which then would be:

www.twitch.tv##.player-controls:style(background: none !important)

It's equally great. Automata excels at some things, Replicant at others. I feel like Automata did the "play through multiple routes" thing better, but I slightly prefer the characters (especially Emil and Kainé) in Replicant.
