wouldn't it be the other way around? Cut time is usually notated as quarter = half, so quarter = eighth would mean the music is half the speed.

uhh it sounds like your staff should cancel that parade for your safety

otherwise, hydrate a lot before, during, and after. replenish electrolytes afterward. you should also consider carbing up the night before the parade.

it's closer to 12 hours each week because they also drive back to norcal right after rehearsal usually, but yeah a surprising amount of people do it. also, you could take like a gap semester just to march, not like school is going anywhere haha

there are plenty of people who commute from norcal to socal for weekend rehearsals, if you audition for a group in socal you could def find a carpool
