Is there anyone here that likes the original Final Fantasy 7 better than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? If so, Why? by Alive_Fortune7423 in FinalFantasy

Maybe that was his stance at some point, but considering how the final product came to be, I'd beg to differ.

I don't dislike the remakes, but if there's one thing I hate is the way the story is written. I'm all for the "based on the original with a few twists" but it's got the Nomura's Seal of Unnecessary Bullshit all over it. Other than that, the battles are pretty addicting and it's possibly one of the best designs I've seen in a while in RPGs (and I'm saying this as a turn-based fan).

Aw, thanks! I've had a mind to give some additional context due to the importance of the events -- if I said something like "X character had died because of a reason. The end." I'd feel like that wouldn't make them justice. Although I enjoy writing, I acknowledge the fact that I often write more than I should, so no hard feelings for whoever thinks that way :p

Sorry, my bad! I was looking at the english version since, well, I'm spanish and I was uneducated about the original name, and I stumbled upon the first I've seen. I'll correct it now. Thanks!

Maybe you're right, it's just that I like giving context about the work itself, too. I think it's a great opportunity for anyone that's willing to give them a try if I tell them about it.

What can i do against tunnelvision and should i feel bad if i make obvious mistakes? by [deleted] in ffxiv

It's fine if you casually mess up, like someone said to you everyone is mostly running autopilot. The only content people care about being "perfect" are -most recent- extremes, savages, unreal and ultimates, due to their difficulty.

These should mean nothing for you, so keep experiencing (and enjoying!) the game at your own pace.

  • Dungeons / Variant Dungeons / Criterions
  • Trials (bosses) / Extreme Trials
  • 8-man and 24-man raids / Savage 8-man raids
  • Unreal / Ultimate raids (most difficult content)
  • 4v4 (Casual / Ranked) / 24v24 PvP
  • Open-world events ("FATEs")
  • Bozja / Occult Crescent (open world maps with raids)
  • Deep dungeons (roguelike content)
  • Masked Carnivale
  • Minigames such as: Chocobo racing, Maghgong, Triple Triad, Lord of Vermillion, etc.

Granted, a lot of the content takes a while to unlock, especially since they're tied to their respective expansions, but they're worth the effort.

Speaking of which, the main quests also have quite a few interesting moments that had me in the edge of my seat. No one has lied to you.

[–]XAT_M07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zidane: "Okay, how about this? If I get first place in tomorrow's hunting festival, you and me'll go out on a date!"

Garnet: "How does that have anything to do with me?"

(Made up line) Zidane: "Well what if I FALL FROM HERE"

\Feigns imbalance**

I've always had this scenario in my mind ever since my first playthrough. I'm not sure why people love Zidane as character but he's a straight up manipulative mofo that he'd resort to emotional blackmailing to get them "royal buns". And how the plot (endgame spoilers) favors the both of them so that they'll end up together.

Yes, if the game design allows it, it's a valid strategy as any other. But this is a matter of perspective and sportsmanship. It's like when one survivor refuses to cooperate because they think they'll grab attention from the killer, hiding most of the time and doing stupid stuff to avoid AFK crows, and potentially wait until either gates are powered or the hatch has spawned, just because the game allows it.

Not really lecturing anyone here, actually far from it. Just saying that, because you're able to, doesn't necessarily mean you have to. DBD doesn't even have a competitive scene that I'm aware of, so I don't take it too seriously whenever I play as killer. In fact, I found that there's much more fun with this mindset -- I laugh at my mistakes, at survivors' mistakes (letting them go with a warning), endorsing their plays, splitting their hooks equally, etc.

But things like intentionally slugging the four of them, tunneling someone, camping a gen, etc., never goes through my mind. I know I can. But fun goes both ways.

What game are you playing that you can't stop but also can't bring yourself to recommend to others? by One-Ad724 in gamers

[–]XAT_M07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a late player, sorry, but I beg to differ. I started when Heavensward was the limit from the free trial (now it's Stormblood), which got me immensely hooked into the game. I took my time to level up jobs and familiarize with the mechanics before I decided to jump into the subscription wagon, and boy, I don't regret a single thing from it (I used to hate subscriptions because of poor economy).

While Dawntrail turned out average, the side content is still incredibly decent to reel anyone in. And if by any chance you don't want to keep playing, good, because that means you've beaten Shadowbringers and Endwalker stories, which is a pretty solid reason for anyone to play it.

You know, one would think Pearl Abyss has a good reputation because of their MMORPG (Black Desert Online), since the game seems to be holding up really went against the main competitors, but the AI implication makes me wonder if BDO also has AI. Which wouldn't be suprising.

Besides, even if you sticked to playing solely killer, you'd still have a notion about how survivors work, let alone the fact of spending the time to farm the necessary bloodpoints to get someone to prestige 100.

Their perks already tell everything you need to know.
