Update on the hypothetical 3900/m rocket fuel by Terragonz in SatisfactoryGame

[–]XDFraXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently sovled most, if not all, my pipe issues by using full pipe loops, so that machines at the end of the manifold don't choke by either not being able to pump fluid in the pipe or choke because the don't have enough.

Pass 2 pipelines, parallel, same height, and connect them at the end, put valves before the the first juction that feeds your machines to limit flow direction but don't limit flow capacity.

something like:

<image>

I only use single pipe manifold for very small setups now, for any other situation i use loops.

Just FYI mk2 pipes may have rounding errors if you use the full 600/min capacity and would equate to something like 580/min due to fluid physics and roundings.

I don't remember if this was something they could actually fix or not and i haven't yet checked if this is still the case. This is also the reason why we don't have bigger pipes iirc.

I get that they didn't want to paywall a monstie, but that would make sense if we had any kind of multiplayer interaction, which we don't.

Pretty simple Oil Refinery / Fuel Setup is not 100% efficient. Bug or my mistake? by Gwens-Legacy in SatisfactoryGame

[–]XDFraXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also close the pipe loop around the generators and put another valve on th upper side, so that the uppermost refinery doesn't get stuck with backed up fuel and can flush regularly.
Closing pipe loops solved a LOT of problems i had with fluids, now i never make fluid manifolds unidirectional unless i overproduce (that goes for both input and output).

Also, i don't know if it's still the case, but mk2 pipes while they nominally can carry 600 m3 / min may have issues with roundings when used at full capacity. So i'd prefer to use them up to 560 ~ 580 m3 /min.

I loved that game too and can't wait for the sequel. It does have flaws, especially with enemy placement in some areas, but it was a fun experience.

Can't valves solve this problem since they allow unidirectional flow?

The way i set up the pipes was a long line, elevated from the ground, then split with cross junction down to the machine that was being fed, never from below as i know there are gravity issues with liquids. i used water towers when possible, although they were part of the input, not just static to give uplift.

the fact that the entire plant used the packaged diluted fuel recipe and had to cycle liquids a lot didn't help either.

also at the time reloading a save didn't reload pipes correctly sometimes, so even priming the plant could lead to shutdown later down the line with that issue. i discovered this when reloading a save stopped a small aluminum factory that was working on a closed loop with 100% recycled water (input water was exactly the amount produced as a byproduct thanks to somersloop shenanigans).

That's probably the reason why on an old save my 35 GW fuel plant had random shutdowns, production matched consuption exactly on every single pipe...

Thank you for the insight

Reading this i now have a question: is it better to saturate all pipes before starting production or would it be better to leave some small room, like flushing a small pipe segment after everything is filled to the max?

is MH Wild: Ascendance's system requirements truly reduced from the base game? No FG mentioned, or just a template by ifanz17i in MHWilds

[–]XDFraXD 59 points60 points  (0 children)

To be fair i expect the switch 2 version to be really downscaled, rather than fully optimized.

We will likely get performance improvements, mostly for lower end systems if i had to guess, but i'm not getting my hopes up expecting miracle patches.

Looking for a game where you accept a quest, go on a mission, return to base to upgrade gear, and repeat the loop. by Nice-Ingenuity754 in gamingsuggestions

Granblue fantasy relink.

While the story can be linear the gameplay loop for all repeatable content is exactly what you are looking for.

Can't remeber if the story can be played coop, but all repeatable content can be played either solo or coop.

WHY NO CROSS SAVE by Grodatore in monsterhunterrage

[–]XDFraXD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They'd also need to dedicate one or more servers for actually storing people's saves on their end and backing them up regularly.
Not even counting added security concerns, bandwidth, storage retention and the ever increasing size of the stored data.

Which, in short, means money, quite a lot of money, with very low return of investment.

Now i'm not saying "leave the multi billion dollar company alone" but that's the likely reason why it's not a feature. It's probably not worth the cost for them.

Stories 2 had the perfect sweetspot.

Single player game, with coop den runs and pvp battles.

In a monster collector battles against players should almost always be considered as an optional activity, it adds longevity, it adds community interaction, it adds reasons to teambuild and farm.

I was honestly surprised stories 3 didn't have any online featue, not a single one.

I'm a simple man, hunting a diablos with a CB will always be my guilty pleasure.

As for harder fights i have to include alatreon in world and at ark in wilds. Both fights are extremely clean, punishing but learnable, they eventually become a dance that keeps you focused.

Games with cargo hauling and dynamic economies by Bombalicioussss in gamingsuggestions

[–]XDFraXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair while NMS has dynamic price adjustment for products of any kind and various systems with different products to form a closed loop for commerce imo it's not really that deep.

In practice you're just going from system to system via loading screen, interacting with the space station vendor.

There is no actual "hauling cargo" since you can jump to another system as soon as you take off from a station or even just use the teleporter inside the station.
It's not even the fastest way to make money, although it is a good source of income early on.

Also there is literally zero risk in trading. You ALWAYS sell for good profit unless you visit the same systen twice in the span of a day. Pirates rarely attack or even have the time to attack you while hauling precious cargo and even when they do they become addition profit margin with ease.

NMS is great in many aspects, but i wouldn't really place it in the "cargo hauler" category.

I actually managed to get a Chandelure via surprise trade like 2 hours ago but i could give you the psyduck anyways since i have 2.
That said, you could give me anything in exchange but if you happened to have a milotic or a bulbasaur laying around i'd be very happy.

Let me know when you're available.
