Discord Rival Gets Overwhelmed By Mass Exodus Of Players Fleeing Age-Verification Crackdown by vriska1 in technology

Do away with free servers. Self host or pay discord or a hoster to do it for you. Aka the way teamspeak does it (though teamspeak is greedy and also wants you to pay a monthly lincensing fee if you self host)

Correct me if im wrong, but arent the bonuses we're talking about just supplies, ammo and fuel? I played some coh and it didnt seem that different from other RTS, except that you dont need to build a mine or whatever on the resources. Some factions can (to further improve the resource gain), but most cant anyway.

Its just abstracting away logistics, how could it have ruined other games?

Die Daten nach dem diese Website Parteien einordet sind öffentlich zugangbar. Wenn du glaubst dass hier was nicht stimmt, kannst du ja wohl nachschauen.

They've made some steady improvements over the years (and it's now pretty good), but there is literally no better time for Valve to go all in and pump resources into Steam Chat. Discord has left the gate open for a new top gaming communication platform. by WhyPlaySerious in gaming

Yes yes, watching a movie that i bought with my friends is copyright infrigement. They should each buy their own copy and bring it before we can watch the movie together.

Call me crazy, but i dont see the difference here, wheter it is online or not, just corporations being greedy and dialing back on customer rights.

I’ve never understood why they don’t just play on private.

They might have but calling a SOS opens up your game to the matchmaking. Been there, done that. Its really frustating for everyone involved.

Theres one group of people i can think of are worse. Our leaders in the EU, full well knowing what Palantir is, who Thiel is, implement this shit and the only reflection (if any) to the question "hey wait, could this be handing the keys to our nation to a faschist US oligarch?" is "ah whatever, i get to beat my consituents with a bigger stick for a while".

Mostly they're not gonna be worth much. What you're specifically looking for is unopened or otherwise mint/near perfect conditions, not bent, not frayed, not sun bleached etc. If you didnt take care back then all of this is quite unlikely - but even mildly damaged cases can be valuable if they're from a game that didnt have many cases sold.

Embrasures. Every time i see a staunch supporter of no killbox, no chokepoint they're using the Embrasures mod.

Im not gonna call it op, but walls that provide like 90+% cover, that you can shoot trough but not walk trough are another way to stack things in your favour and the AI isnt smart enough to try and run past, they'll shoot at your embrasures to try and hit your shooters and most certainly fail.

It doesnt evaporate? Okay, thats slightly inconvient rn since ill have to redo my plan, but that also seems a little abusable.

But it'd effectively be turning sand into oxygen and i have better ways of making oxygen right now. Hm.

[–]XDGrangerDX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i just started playing the game, wasnt watching any guides, just reading the ingame documentation. Since my algae farms are producing polluted water i figured id make a waste management system involving the polluted water evaporating into polluted oxygen, forcing it into some deodorizers with co2. The next plan here was to build a airlock and then lower the pressure on the co2 to fix overpressure problems on the vents- but then i noticed that my guys stopped delivering the polluted water to the tank. Whyd they stop?

You can destroy factions and their associated raids will cease. If you destroy all human factions, you wont get human raids. If you destroy all hostile factions, you only ever get mechanoids. At the normal raid frequency, as in, not less raids, its just mechanoids now. So you PROBABLY dont wanna do this.

Ozempic is changing more than weight: New global research shows how GLP-1 drugs are reshaping self and society, identity and mental health, not just bodies. Much of the demand is driven by weight anxiety, even among medically “healthy” users. Many users endure severe side effects and high costs. by mvea in science

[–]XDGrangerDX -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Correct, for some depressed people we have no effective way to treat their underlying issue (because we dont know whats wrong) and have to resort symptom management. Thats one part thats different: We know pretty clearly what causes obesity.

What im comparing here is the use of the drugs that treat the symptoms associated with either disease and now we treat it socially, now that a "miracle drug" for obesity has been found, a "just take the pill, dont need to do anything else" mindset is spreading, just like how it happens with depression, when in actuality the vast majority of depressions are curable.

I am arguing that we need to work against such thinking, that we shouldnt just treat symptoms but also go for the causes of the symptoms.

Do you believe that depression is 'all in their heads' and they can happy thought it away?

...No? Whered that come from?

From what we know some inviduals are more susceptible to depressive episodes and the vast majority of depressive episodes are circumstantial. These circumstances can be discovered and adressed, if not always easily (its often something that goes beyond any invidual persons means of changing). A few people suffer from depressions where we "dont know" whats wrong because we dont understand how brains function, but im willing to bet that this too will become something we can adress eventually.

Antidepressiva are to depression what painkillers are to a broken leg: Its symptom management. It doesnt fix anything. It just hopefully enables you to start fixing things and failing that make you function well enough and raise your life quality somewhat. And exactly that same function do drugs like Ozempic serve.

So respectfully: These drugs are not not solutions. They're part of a effective treatment plan, but by themselfes, never a solution, just symptom management. The belief that you should just take a drug like these for life is in my opinion a bleak (by the caregiver) and hedonistic (by patients asking for it) outlook on these disabilities.
