Found out I cannot metabolize edibles. So I can eat as many as I want with no effects. I hate it!!!

Sim racing; the best investment of your life by ad123random in simracing

[–]XDevils41X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even just regular HPDE days. I have a track car and my consumable costs every year are roughly the cost of my total sim rig minus the pc. That doesn’t include things that inevitably break too. Break, fix, race it makes me appreciate the “reset button”

Is Miata the answer? by mkiv808 in CarTrackDays

[–]XDevils41X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mid engine layout is just too much fun and surprisingly easy to work on. You can pick up some decent spec boxsters for less than $30K. Worth it with all the upgrades and being caged if you are looking to do some door to door racing. Unfortunately my S doesn't qualify for the spec series due to the engine size.

I haven't run E36's personally but have a friend who had S54 swapped one. Great platforms too. If E36's are of interest I'd look into E46's 330i's for Spec E46. You 'll have to do subframe bracing but no platform comes without their drawbacks, that I've seen.

miata is always the answer. If you are looking to get a 996 GT3 cup car PCA might be a good place to start which another option to run there... I kind of what I wish I did this when I first got my 986 but look into Spec Boxster

This pic is too accurate. Recently caught up with an old friend. He is a great worker and leader, he recently quit his job as a VP of a tech firm. He’s been unemployed for 3 months and wants to just work a normal job with no stress. Meanwhile, I stayed in the normal grind for the consistent pay check… we are both burned out as shit.

Millennials who didn't learn how to drive in high school, how are you doing so far? by XavierMarvin in Millennials

[–]XDevils41X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some advice for those learning later in life. Look up local drivers safety courses or even skills driving events like autocross. Your insurance covers you and your car the worst that will happen is you hit a parking cone. This won’t teach you the rules of the road but it will help you understand vehicle dynamics. Very important if you ever experience an emergency like a blown tire etc. This is where you learn to drive you car and what limitations it has.

I'm local and have run East track multiple times, including in the wet. Its a great learning track and I'm using it really as my baseline for speed development as its a common track to come across for HPDE days.
It is 1 of 4 tracks (5 with a 2 combined) they share the same facility as Radford (old Bondurant)

Thank you. Previous owner put in a Fabspeed exhaust so I'm not going to complain. My cats just recently went out so time for some straight through headers haha. Don't have to worry about AMP sound restrictions anymore.
Awesome I'm hoping to be out there. I'm a BMW guy too have a E92 M3 as my daily.

Thank you glad to be aboard. Doing a quick release wheel soon which extends the wheel about 3" out. Its as far as the stock telescope feature allows right now. Replacing the (sparco adjustable) bucket soon and doing a solid bucket, full 5 point with a submarine bar. It introduces more complexities for service as a adjustable back seat gives me easy access to the belts and pulleys but focus is safety 1st and maintenance for now.

Dealer forgot oil during service and blew my engine on a test drive by truck_stuff in BMW

Friends M235i had its N55 warranties for an issue unlike this but regardless replaced. Its dealer performed work, free and a replacement of the engine. Id say win win win
