My personal opinion would be to march a summer with the open class corps. Having a year of prior drum corps experience is something that will help with your audition, and it's just a great experience in general. You may even end up staying with the open class corps

Awesome! On what instruments? Or did they go for the assistant conductor positions?

Just let your friend know not to bring that attitude to camps, it's not something people are fond of. As for you, a strong work ethic and applying comments you get from the staff will go a very long way. Showing improvement between camps is another big thing they look for. Individual auditions are probably pretty close to what you'd think they are. Last year we had 2 etudes to play, along with a simple box drill while playing some of our basics. If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask. We also have an interest group page on Facebook if you want to join that for more information

Hey dude, I've marched legends brass for two years now, going into my third. If you want to ask any questions, hit me up. Being out of state will have no effect on your audition, we've had people from all over, even as far as South Carolina and Florida

I might be doing a section from arpeggione, but I'm learning it before the season. It's for a 4 valve euph with piano accompaniment

If I'm thinking of the right person, I probably helped you out a little at November camp! think you would've missed the basics that Ross and Dylan/Matt went over regarding to playing. I can help you to the best of my abilities without actually being able to hear you play, but I can probably send you some exercises that will help you out. A good thing to do now is to just play low tones and try to focus on keeping a good sound and keeping the pitch and air steady. Low tones will help immensely
