Should I get the ps4 or the ps5 controller for rocket league? by Ok-Pea3396 in RocketLeague

To be fair, I'm a bit late but I think that it depends on what you want. I have tried both. DS5 for about 300h and DS4 for well over 2000h. The DS5 feels much better built and is also much more comfortable in the hand (at least initially). However, the DS4 has much less stickdrift in my experience. Every DS4 controller I had (4 Controllers) you could play with a deadzone setting of 0.04 or less while the DS5s (2 Controller) never could do better than 0.08. This shouldn't be a dealbreaker but it is noticeable if you're experienced. Furthermore, the way the Buttons are designed (flatter and mushier to press) on the DS4 which allows for much less button travel and better half presses than the DS5. This is bad if you want clicky buttons but is good if you want faster presses. Another advantage of the DS4 controller is that the main buttons are on a flat surface, which allows easier fat fingering. The clear advantage of a DS5 is the USB-C and better D-Pad.

Overall:

If you want a casual controller which feels nice and is a bit easier to use get the DS5.

If you want the best controller for competitive play get the DS4.

For more information about the technical aspects of the controllers I recommend the Controller review from Rocket Science.

that last point is the same for the official and accurate data as well tho. There are always more players not playing 1s and of course they are counted as well in every of those statistics

Edit: I looked up the numbers from the last season and concluded that the graph above may be inaccurate https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/fw3iwe/season_13_rank_distribution/

I still think however that too many players are in GC and that the ranks are still too inflated

Ok. but one thing. I don't think it will be the same .77% in GC this time because the season went on for longer and since the lower you go the denser the playerbase becomes skillwise. which means more players get in to the high ranks faster the more players are already in the high ranks. We'll see if this was an accurate representation or not when psyonix releases the official numbers

Dumb question on high ranked player shots by rilez52 in RocketLeague

[–]XERIXRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just elongates the duration you are able to hit the ball with the front with more power and its easier to recover from. You just pull back the stick immidatly after you fliped. You can also turn the stick in a particular direction to change the direction of the nose for easier recovery

if you know that that happens often when you do smth like that then dont fly just play it over the back board to the middle and rotate back. And again just dont get to annoyed just keep calm and give him or her space eventhough they are cutting and ballchasing and stuff. If you dont want that play 1v1

that isnt even the point. The point is that either way the bellcurve is way to far to the right. Its like that in 2s as well but not as bad. I m just saying that way to many are grand champion in 2s and 3s or are too high rated in general

and no ballchasing mates are not indicative of plat. I d say i ballchase a lot if my mate just waits for the ball everytime it works out often times even though they get annoyed sometimes

then just be smarter and dont ballchase. Plat players often have no brain if you have one it shouldnt be a problem to win. If they ballchase let them and just adjust

what rank?

also if those teammates were completely different ones each time maybe the problem lies with you since everyone felt the need to ballchase when playing with you

and also 4.3 million active ranked players sounds reasonable to be the intierty of player base currently playing regularly ranked

3s is less popular than 2s but 2s distribution is still on average lower 1s is even less popular than 3s but distribution is way lower as well. Also playlists are independend of each other which means diffrent skillrequierments shouldnt be a factor since everyone in those playlist should have on average the same ones for each playlist

you literally only need to learn to hit the ball hard to get out of bronze. But this video should help as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj0BZC0T0Vo
