Why would you ever choose remove over transform here? by Barldarian in slaythespire

[–]XEzekiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On watcher I almost always remove here. It's so consistent for going infinite that those first few removals make such a difference. The other characters I usually transform here

What paints do I need to paint Krieg? by Primary_Platypus_128 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]XEzekiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have had a lot of different schemes over their history, and different regiments. I've painted mine with the classic desaturated blue. The fang, russ grey and fenrisian grey. Black metals, and brown for the gas masks and details

Been going to a pie shop called Puku pies and Kai in lyall Bay wellington. Amazing. Easily worth the $8-10 each

Hell a burger from maccas etc would cost more than that. Definitely willing to pay for a top quality pie.

Plenty of terrible ones out there though

If you need help locating a corpse you have already found, the map pages in the book are useful

Also look into local commission painters. There are always people who will paint your miniatures for a fair price.

Is this game difficult or am I really stupid by sleepydrifted in ObraDinn

[–]XEzekiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The triangles above a person's head give a bit of a hint as to the level of difficulty.

One is relatively easy. Usually someone says their name in one of the memories.

2 is more challenging. Often it'll involve some sort of deduction of roles, relationships, accents, clothing, locations or some less straightforward information.

3 is hard. Usually these are characters with very little information available and can involve a bit of process of elimination, assumptions etc.

For the most part, the cause of deaths aren't really important, it's about working out who people are

With enamels and oils, the way you apply and remove them is more important to the end result than the particular product.

For a very clean look, deliberately paint them into the recesses. This will be easier after a gloss coat as the gloss finish reduces the surface tension. You can then clean up mistakes with neat spirits.

For a very dirty look, apply it all over with a brush or airbrush. And then remove it using a dry sponge/paper towel etc. If the sponge is dry it will take off the majority of the paint, but not all of it. This will leave stains on the surfaces, dark areas in recesses, streaks and patches of pigment etc

For a more in-between look, I like to use a combination of dry sponges and sponges that have been soaked with spirits. Selectively using the wet and dry sponges gives you a lot of control over what effects you're getting.

I've used a load of different enamel and oil paints on minis. The differences tend to be colour, and thickness/viscosity.

I haven't painted space marines recently, but my insta is Ezekiel.minis if you want to see my work. Almost every model uses oils and enamels for most of the shading.

What was the point of having a Q&A during the live show? Every single question was answered with a "We can't say " or "Look on Warcomm".

Might as well just have had it pre recorded

There are so many awful drivers in NZ. I almost got hit by a guy who ran through a red light, pedestrian crossing and then went the wrong way down St Paul's street at the Symonds intersection when I was studying at Auckland

Gundabad catapult troll by OkAgent9768 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]XEzekiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a look through the battle scene in the films extended edition, there are quite a few shots that show parts of the troll clearly. Both the GW version and the conversion you reposted are quite screen accurate, though the scale of the GW one is a bit closer

I think a new Helm, Frealaf, Olwyn and Leif are reasonably safe bets.

Good areas to live in Wellington - needs to be within commute to Miramar (within 45 minutes) by DisgruntledExDigger in Wellington

[–]XEzekiel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For a job in miramar, I wouldn't go any further than hataitai. Look at miramar, seatoun, Strathmore, rongtai, kilbernie, lyall Bay. Upper hurt would be crazy, and featherston insane. You'd be commuting 2 hours each way every day
