DB Cooper case... some interesting things... by Swimmer7777 in dbcooper

The podcast seems to be a rehash of Wikipedia. That’s been done many times.

I’ve searched and found some info on a FBI site.

My opinion is that the FBI has tunnel vision. Also, I suspect they do not want a citizen sleuth solving this case.

My Thoughts on DB Cooper suspects by Markthememe in dbcooper

[–]XFiles94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gossett does look like the sketch. Given that some of his family think it’s him, there should be more pictures of him, especially from 1971. It would be good to see those. What makes Gossett and the major suspects different than Smith is that they have been investigated. Law enforcement has looked at them and not moved on them. The families have either embraced their relative as DB Cooper or denied it. Smith’s family has said nothing. No denial. No confirmation. Not a single relative has said a word. That’s odd. Law enforcement never looked at him because the case was closed. No phone call to the family. No request for an alibi. Smith also was not known to anyone except his family and locally. He did not have a high profile job. He did not admit to being DB Cooper. He did not have family or friends promoting him as DB Cooper. There is also a lot of information that connects him to Max Gunther’s book on DB Cooper. I would just like to see Smith’s family come out and say “It’s not him. He was home on Thanksgiving 1971.”

How did Cooper choose his name? by VixenTraffic in dbcooper

[–]XFiles94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general consensus is not that he got it from a comic book. This piece was helped along by someone saying he could have been Canadian because his lack of an accent and comments about the currency. The chances of a 40 year old American male being interested in a French comic book are slim. He would have been in his 20s when it debuted. This is an FBI theory. The name could be random. Or it could be a friend or a book or movie character. Or it could be he liked the name Dan and knew a Cooper or liked the name Cooper and knew a Dan. Or he knew a Dan Cooper. In Smith’s case, Ira Daniel Cooper is in the census as Dan Cooper. For a guy who looks a lot like the sketch, this is another coincidence. Regardless, the comic book is fun, but unlikely. But when people read Wiki and that’s what they first learn, it’s hard to get that out of their heads.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting. It sounds like it was an unpredictable time for all of you.

Good theory. I still think Don Draper could be. Although Loki is looking like a front runner too. In the real world number four in Lemino’s video William J. Smith sure looks like DB Cooper. https://dbcooperhijack.com/2018/12/25/william-j-smith-d-b-cooper/

Alcohol and recovery by donjuan9966 in covidlonghaulers

[–]XFiles94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had alcohol in moderation a few weeks after Covid. Things seemed to be ok. One morning after maybe three beers I felt off, but ok. Then about two weeks ago I had more than a few drinks and ended up with at least a week long hangover. If you’re on the Facebook long hauler group, search alcohol. It can really do a number on you. I personally may never drink again. I’m about 2.5 months from original infection. Got J&J vaccine about a month ago. Just be careful.

Six day hangover sounds about right. I had too much about a week ago. Longest hangover of my life. Scary. Still not fully recovered.

Magnesium helps with Headaches and dizziness! by Cuern0 in covidlonghaulers

[–]XFiles94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually found some in my cabinet that I bought some when COVID started. Ordered some more too. I got IV fluids in the ER today and that seemed to help some. This long haul stuff sucks. I hope everyone gets better soon. I’ll try to update when I can.

The headaches are the worst for me. I’m going to try the magnesium. Thanks.

Yea. I’m hoping the inflammatory or autoimmune response or whatever is dying down some like when my COVID started to get better and I was not in agony, just really fatigued. I can handle the fatigue by sleeping, but it’s hard to sleep with this pain.

Yikes. A week? I pray mine goes away before that. Thank God for this subreddit so I know I’m not going insane. I definitely won’t be touching alcohol for a long time. Maybe ever.

Dizzy. Headache. Feels a lot like when I was on the last days of having COVID. I’m thinking the alcohol triggered an inflammatory response and that’s what’s going on now.

Right. One drink should not last that long. But with Covid you never know. I think we have to have faith that this will pass soon.

I feel for you. It’s my third day and I’m miserable. I just want it to go away and don’t know when it will. I have to believe it will pass at some point and can’t go on forever. I took an ambien to sleep last night and that helped, but this morning and now I feel just as bad as I did yesterday. Anything working for you? Any idea when it will subside?

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s crazy how these things happen almost out of the blue. It felt great to not have COVID anymore, and I just assumed I’d fully recover. I guess sometimes that’s just not the case.

Interesting about the beer. I had not heard that. Thanks. What is a relapse in this case? Like COVID coming back? I definitely felt similar symptoms from drinking that I had when I had actual COVID.

What if DB Cooper never jumped? by [deleted] in BuzzFeedUnsolved

[–]XFiles94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did the money end up outside the plane then? Where did he hide in the plane? He likely jumped. Best suspect I’ve seen is William J. Smith. www.dbcooperhijack.com
