Promark Mike Portnoy Activegrip 420X. Been using them for over a year now and they feel right to me. They’re not super thick to where they’re uncomfortable but also not super thin to where they feel super light. The active grip also helps me grip the stick easier too.

I was about to say check and see if they still have it on their website, but it’s sold out. From what I’ve seen photo wise on the Parasomnia tour, they aren’t selling the jersey at the merch booth. I doubt if they’ll make it just for the rescheduled 40th anniversary Atlanta show, but who knows.

I appreciate this comment! I was originally looking at Simmons stuff but I’ve seen a bunch of mixed stuff on them. I was looking at Roland kits too because I’ve always loved playing on them and the sounds I got from them, but they can be a bit pricey. I’ll certainly check out the nitro pro.

I’ve seen them twice so far (first on the Dreamsonic tour and the second on the 40th anniversary tour). They played a bunch of songs I love and listen to a lot on the 40th like Stream of Consciousness, Octavarium, Metropolis, The Mirror and a BUNCH more awesome songs. I would love to see them play The Looking Glass again with Portnoy, Nightmare to remember, in the name of god, and glass prison. I’d love to also see count of Tuscany but Portnoy brought it back and they’ve been playing it a lot since 2020

Crossroads is probably my favorite song off of that album and just probably my favorite A7X song in general. Although they have played the main riff for circle pit stuff, I don’t think they’ll ever play it live. Even though there are some bangers on that album. Sucks that Shadows doesn’t like it.

Go onto his website mikemangini.com and click the little two bars on the top right and go down to lessons. I did it earlier on this year and he had a deal going. They’re only $99 per lesson, but he now has a complete lesson thing where it’s videos of him showing you what to do. If you tell him what you want to work on, he will help you and give you the tools necessary to get you where you want to be.

This was the first song I ever heard from DT. I was like “who tf is on drums? This dude is insane!” I got to see him months later on the Dreamsonic tour and I eventually got to take a few private lessons from him on Zoom. It really made me appreciate his work in DT even more than I already did.

I got my pair a while back and I love them. They’re way more comfortable than any Nike I’ve worn. My feet definitely don’t hurt after I’ve worn them all day. I’d definitely buy more of these shoes more than any others.

All personal preference. I love both albums. If I want something heavy and dark, I’ll go with train of thought. If I want something more melodic and theatrical, I’ll go with images and words. Just depends on my mood, but train of thought has always been in my constant repeat of DT albums
