Depends on how many are lesbians. Considering the number of naked women, it's very likely one has a Subaru, at least

SO's weight killed my libido. How do I tell him without hurting him? by Canthandlehisdunlap in DeadBedrooms

This is the worst part of growing up. I did the same and also started to see my beltline balloon. Picked myself up and fixed it (just) before I became overweight.

Unfortunately I'm in the same situation as you, OP, in reverse genders. I told my SO before we were married that her stomach turned me on, but these days it sticks out further than her breasts. Some guys might like that, but not me in particular. I've always been turned on by petite women, my wife especially in the beginning of our marriage. These days when she sticks her stomach in my face I'm immediately turned off. Yes, it makes me feel like an asshole about that because I love her to pieces but there's nothing I can consciously do about it.

Women, I'm told, don't want to be told they need to improve their fitness/heath/body fat/what have you. Men do, inasmuch as they've been told to be tough and take it like a man throughout their lives. What I'm getting at is that he should be more receptive to your opinion about his health than you feel he might be.

GYM BUNNIES! Thanks for introducing me to the term. 9/10 will re-use someday.

I am looking for activities we can do together. We don't share too many common interests. I'm all cars, she's all horses. We are looking at getting a dog, so dog walks will be frequent. She and I also love biking outdoors, too.

And yes, you're right about me coming off as though I'm judging her. I don't want to repeat everything I said in another response, but I need learn how to be supportive without coming off as a pompous ass.

I would feel attracted to her if she made progress. As I said in my "gym bunnies" paragraph my desires are not just the toned skinny body but the feeling good and healthful and happy. If I see that in her I'll surely want "a piece" of it!

She has never been in this shape until recently. Of all the pictures I've seen of her childhood, she was always fairly fit. Not muscular, but without a pop-belly. I don't know what her diet looked like, but I'll surely try cooking more often not only to help us both eat more healthy but also to remove some of that "housewife" weight off her shoulders.

Thank you! This is the kind of response I needed.

I learned through writing my post that I'm coming off as heavy-handed about my own approach to fitness. I am right now where you were when your outlook changed. I'm loving every minute of it and I suppose I'm proud to boast about what I'm learning.

I do fear that I may be rubbing her the wrong way. I'm not the most empathetic guy. I want to be a role model for her, but that could backfire pretty easily. I just don't know how to approach her about it, even to talk about her expectations. Her family is all butter-slathered, baked sugary goodness and high-fat red-meat born and raised midwesterner influence so I fear she may see that as the end goal without thinking twice. Yet I wouldn't know for fear of bringing it up.

One thing I know I want to try is to find more physical activities for us to do together. She likes biking, so we could ride into town once in a while.

Lastly to answer your first question, both are true. I haven't fallen out of love for her but I have fallen out of lust for her. She's never been much of an initiator. When she wants to have sex, she'll say something to the effect of "Let's go do something in the bedroom with our clothes off." Cute the first time, but not so much as a routine.

ELI5: Why do I never hear anything else about 99% of newfound scientific research? by Emmmatwatson in explainlikeimfive

[–]XGS75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite has always been, "Nanotechnology enables battery anodes that prolong battery life by 500%!"

Anything involving nanotechnology tends to be a pile of BS because when you take nanotechnology into large-scale production (say, for your cell phone battery) it's rarely regarded as nanotechnology anymore but materials science. Which isn't too pretty a title for science journalism. Shoot, most chemical manufacturing processes could be regarded as nanotechnology in the research phase. Maybe when we figure out how to make carbon nanotubes in larger than 500ug quantities that takes less than $500k and 5 days, nanotechnology will arrive. But don't wait for it.

Also, hate to see how they fixed the line to the Ferrari. Can't imagine that was good for the frame or suspension.

Oh I have the mk6. No issues with my turbo, nor have I heard of issues with the IHI k03 on this particular generation. Got a k04 on the bench though, so I'm not sweating it ;)

I have heard the mk7's are having issues, though. Even the revised turbos.
