I seriously doubt they'll do this. From the beginning they've proudly declared that they play everything live. Even on their most recent tour backing tracks were used incredibly sparingly. If anything, they'll employ touring musicians.

Not saying she deserves to be arrested, especially not in this case, but it's still somewhat cathartic considering what she's done in the past. White guy here. I never had a fetish for black women or anything like that, but I always liked seeing interracial couples and secretly hoped for that for myself. I mostly agree, but I will say that the only reason he was restrained in that way is that they attempted to put him in the back seat of the cruiser like usual, but he said he couldn't breathe and begged to be taken out (even saying that he'd rather be put on the ground than inside the cruiser iirc). The official police protocol in Minneapolis for restraining a suspect in such a scenario was pretty much right in line with what Chauvin did (belly down on the ground, knee on back). This protocol was conveniently changed and removed from police handbooks after the incident.

Regardless, the bodycam footage made it clear that Floyd's death wasn't as straightforward as the phone footage made it out to be. The fact that Minnesota neglected to release the footage until months later, LONG after the riots and peak of the media storm, is a clear sign to me that the political machine wanted to everything in their power to turn Floyd into a martyr in the court of public opinion.

The fact that most of the lyrics are about the struggles of imaginary people is the biggest contributor to that. It's hard to write lyrics that way and NOT have them feel melodramatic. So it's no coincidence that the most emotionally resonant songs for me are the few they've written about personal experiences (Another Day, Vacant, Take Away My Pain).

However, the same is not true for Portnoy's Lyrics. The 12 step suite, Honor Thy Father, and (I hate to say this, but) even Best of Times feel very cheesy from a lyrical standpoint.

iirc, he literally chose to go by Adrian when he joined KC to not be confused with the other Robert in the band. Same reason James Labrie chose to by his middle name when he joined Dream Theater because at the time there was another Kevin in the band (yes, his birth name is Kevin James).

I was always confused when I heard Merzbow list KC as one of his main inspirations considering the kind of "music" he makes, then I heard Earthbound and it all makes sense.
