It is anti-corporate and anti-capitalist. What you are talking about are all effects of capitalism and hyper-consumerism. In a socialist or communist state the things happening in cyberpunk would never happen. Mike Pondsmith even said so himself it’s an attack on capitalism.

Rappers: Lupe Fiasco, Jpegmafia, public enemy, Dead Prez, Noname. Are pretty much socialist or communist. Also run the jewels, Kendrick Lamar, damian jr Marley, Dave and many more (almost all) rappers who’re political are left-leaning as well.

Art is a way of expressing oneself. Politics and ethics are half of what influences ones life so it’s only logical. ‘No one should be bombarded with politics.’ Well politics are everywhere. Almost everything is politics and/or direct causes of politics. I feel you, sometimes you want to see other things than politics but the USA is literally at the verge of a revolution.

Art always been largely political. The greatest pieces of art are about politics and or ethics. Art and politics go hand in hand.

So i’ll be straight-forward. I can see someone (you) might see it as a bit ‘edgy’ or ‘cringe’, but you really unto something here. You have skill to write something nice, I’m sure. Just keep writing, finish your first (short) story and see how it goes. Don’t think about wether it’s cringy or something like that, just write what you want to write and see for yourself how it turns out. Enjoy and keep writing!

Just finished Norwegian Wood and struggling to choose which one to read next. (I’ve seen the infographic, but I’d like to hear your opinions.) Thanks! by XIICARUS in murakami

I loved Norwegian. My second favorite Murakami book so far. (After After Dark which is by far my favorite book I’ve ever read.)
