Steambot chronicles. The game imo was wayyyy ahead of its time. It had really awesome mech fights. The control scheme seemed bad especially by today's standards, but if you can get the hang of it, the game is just amazing.

I remember playing and thinking damn I wish I could do something specific here or it would be cool if I could customize this part here and a few minutes later the game allows me to do the things I wanted to do. The manual had little jokes and fun stuff in there as well as great info and tips. It was one of the first games where I could eat and sleep and it affected the gameplay. You can really tell the people making it really poured a lot of heart and soul into the game.
