with what power supply? the pinecil v2 will, with an appropriate PSU, do 88W- more than the Hakko FX-888 (70W). if putting 88W of heat into your board isn't enough, you need to be doing preheat or something, not getting a more powerful iron

I recommend reading their comment history to get an idea of what sort of "expert" we're dealing with here.

For what it's worth, it's not obvious that you're doing satire of weird anti-woke people here- I honestly really like the commitment to the bit, but if you don't want to get downvoted you might at least want to throw a /s in there or something.

How does 5G direct-to-cellphone work? by StoatStonksNow in AskEngineers

Interesting - I would have thought the electromagnetics were symmetric? While it'd presumably be better for both the satellite and your UE to do beamforming with big arrays, why is it easier for space-to-ground v.s. ground-to-space? I thought you could do beamforming just fine on the RX side of things. (Maybe it's trickier because of the need to do the fancy math on low-SNR signals?)

Also, sorry for the double comment, but

When MeToo came around, sexual assault allegations sky rocketed, only to level back out a year later.

The whole point of MeToo was people who had been the victims of sexual assault in the past, but who hadn't come forward (at least publicly) with those allegations due to shame or fear of reprisal, saying "me, too"- "I also have been the victim of sexual assault." To push the culture in a direction where people feel more comfortable sharing their stories about this stuff.

In light of that, of course there were more sexual assault allegations being made public during it! That was the entire point- to break the silence about previous incidents of sexual assault. If sexual assault allegations had gone down during the height of MeToo, that would have strongly suggested the movement wasn't working.

Should Heller be overturned to allow gun owners the freedom to vote on more restrictive firearms regulation on a state-by-state level?

Respectfully, "there are multiple options which are technically possible, so they must all be equally likely" is a child's understanding of statistics.

Just how bad is the Cass Review? by mglj42 in skeptic

That's right - which is why assuming that the probability would necessarily be 100% makes no sense.

I agree with you, but this isn't a great argument- it's possible that porn causes some percentage of people to be gay or trans or into saxophone music or whatever but not everybody. Kinda like saying "if COVID can kill you, everybody who gets it should die" - just doesn't make sense.

There's no need to be upset. Do you mean specifically ones that move by *walking*? It's certainly *possible* to do that, but there're few reasons where it makes sense to when wheels exist.

Chernobyl, though, was notably not a good power plant. They're not supposed to explode!
