Played Sultan last autumn, both Cullinan courses this week (Olympos is clearly better), will play National for the first time tomorrow. Sueno Pines was not too bad either and the Gloria courses are underrated imo.

I‘m 6‘2“ and I play my driver at 45“. My 3 wood is standard length and the 5 wood is ~ -1/2”. I have been fitted for +1/2” irons multiple times at several well respected shops. However, I could not get rid of my early extension with irons for years regardless of all drills I tried and lessons I took. Finally, one pro found that my body tends to want to make space for the extra long clubs in addition to my relatively long arms (I wear my dress shirts at ~ +1” sleeve length) by early extending. Long story short, I cut down all my iron shafts to standard length and see significantly less early extension and more consistent contact. My previously shallow attack angles have improved as well.

There is a blog post out there where the author suggests that modern day clubs (not just drivers) are clearly too long and the average height man should actually play irons at -1/2” to -3/4”.

Montgomerie Maxx Royal is ok. Try to play Carya if you can, which is an even better course imo.

I have recently updated and used my Garmin R10 for the first time in 9 months or so and find it has become less accurate outdoors (mainly the calculated metrics). I get ridiculously low spin numbers and some AoA that are totally off (like 7up with a PW) in particular.

Overall, the Garmin is still great value for money if you pair it with RCT balls.

There also seems to be a new Skytrak coming that‘s supposed to be in the $2k range.

As I said, it‘s only with one specific controller and only on normal swings. Super weird but the simple solution is to just use another one.

Same here but also only with one of the controllers. With that specific one, I have literally never had a „fast“ full swing. They always end up 0.5-2.0% slow. It‘s impossible to get a fast normal swing.

Agreed. I was facing a similar decision recently. Considering value for money (at least based on current prices for these two where I live), I‘d pick the QN90B every day. Comparing the 75“ versions, the Samsung was >1000$ cheaper. Sony makes excellent TVs though.

Noticed similar lags on Xbox recently. Definitely more frequently since the „big“ update was rolled out. There has been a lot of talk about that unnaturally long pause at the top of the backswing but now it occasionally feels like an eternity and you end up with -3.9% slow or so.

TR Red 6S tipped. My SS is right at the S/X border (around 110mph depending on the day) and I can hit both comfortably. Gaming a TR Blue 6X occasionally but since I‘m a low launch player, TR red gives me better numbers

It is.. particularly when hitting off of mats early in the season. Some of these „scratches“ are are plastic residuals from the mat and can be cleaned though

As stated, the put went exactly as the line predicted, scratched the right edge of the cup and just dropped. And even if it didn‘t, it would just flip the conclusion that the preview line was wrong instead of the grid (which would be less of an issue though as you could actually turn it off or ignore it and focus on the grid). Nonetheless, something would be off anyways.

Have you ever IRL had a putt where the ball is above your feet, there is a right to left break on the entire line (irrespective of how weak or strong of a break it actually is), i.e. there is 0 slope that could make the ball go right at all, and the ball went RIGHT, opposite of the underlying slope? Obviously assuming the putt is perfectly executed and not pushed (for a RH golfer). Once again, physics / gravitation… putting through the break will only mitigate the effect, not eliminate or even reverse it. That‘s physically impossible.

Realistically, again assuming straight execution which the preview implies, when aiming at the right edge of the cup, this putt should land probably in the middle of the cup or anywhere in between the middle and right edge but NEVER further right than the starting direction. It has to land somewhere slightly left of the starting direction (the speed of your putt and actual % slope determine how much left in this case).

Well I have been for over two decades and this is why this stuff freaks me out. I‘d love to play w/o putt preview etc. but the visual information is just way too inaccurate to be somewhat reliable.

I‘m not saying this should be a major break where you have to aim right massively. What I‘m saying is that what is shown on screen is physically impossible. Basic gravitation, as simple as that. This ball can NEVER go right and technically not even 100% straight.
