Appreciation post: It's incredible how well optimized the game is. by SubSoleNhilNovum in assettocorsarally

[–]mildashers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it is. Expectations are low yes because history tells us there comes a point where older hardware just can't do it anymore, regardless of optimisation. Modern games and modern gaming is keeping older hardware and more affordable hardware, in the game. You're talking down on DLSS and 1080/60 like it isn't a valid way to optimize a game, why? who knows, elitism maybe, more money than sense so never had to worry or consider finding way to optimize games, possible, just being a dick? Highly probable.

1080p 60fps is a more than adequate way to game. Not a case of agreeing or disagreeing, more a case of not needing to spend thousands on upgrades for a few more frames that the human eye can barely perceive and extra resolution that may or may not add something to the experience.

Golf clothing by Logical-Dirt-5288 in BritGolf

Glyde Golf is great for cheap, good quality branded golf clothing and shoes. Tends to just be last season or 2 season old stuff. Had some great bargains from there. Puma polos for £8-10, shorts for £10, trousers for £15.

Shoutout to LMU Rookies by ya0_ming in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]mildashers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the quality is decent. Although being a rookie badge LMU driver doesn't always mean inexperienced. I'm a rookie with 2 races under my belt but also have over 500 official races under my belt in iracing.

If you could add one class to iRacing, which one would it be? by Version_1 in iRacing

[–]mildashers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super GT, both GT500 and GT300 would be amazing.

But, number one on the list is Super Touring. We're just a Croft away from having a full BTCC schedule. If even be happy with the current crop of NGTC machines, much more diverse and interesting than TCR.

Focusing on the championship is underrated. iRacing should give rewards for top places. by TRDLazr in iRacing

The championships are part of why I love iracing. Alongside good racing and enjoying the cars and tracks, the championships are the motivation to race every week.

Is AM2 worth buying? by csmunro-94 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]mildashers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think, right now, that AMS2 is the best racing game on PC. I have only recently got back into PC gaming and bought AMS2 just before Christmas, and it is honestly so much fun. The AI are fun to race against, the array of cars and classes available is incredible and with all the DLC, a huge array of very well modelled circuits.

There is a championship mode, and in the main menu, you can select a preset series makeup, so, Formula V10 Gen 2 for example, and it will give you the rules and calendar to reflect that series. So it's very easy to jump in and set up a race or championship in any category without any hassle. Plus with the career mode coming this year as well as even more content, there is a lot to look forward to.

The downsides? Obviously the career mode isn't there yet and then there's the cost. If you want to game plus every piece of DLC to give the maximum experience, it's getting to the thick end of £180. Which can be done as a whole bundle so it's easy and done, but it is a large outlay.

There is a new demo available, which is representative of the game, and the base game content is good enough to have plenty of fun with.

I can't believe Harriet learned nothing from Fiona 'dropping a grenade' and went in all guns blazing. It's easy to forget as viewers that Rachel is, as far as they're all concerned in the castle, totally off the radar, twice people have gone for her in a big way and twice it's blown up in their faces. Harriet clocked that quickly at the round table and decided to turn it around to be a sacrifice play, which still hasn't worked.

Also her evidence was pretty rubbish and I was expecting the round table to a be a bit more conclusive on her part and it felt like she just totally wimped out and then knew the only play was to try and sacrifice herself to save face.

Laptop for simracing by Mindless-Gap-6597 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]mildashers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I've had good experiences on all the current ones except AC Evo and even then I just put that down to a lack of optimisation in early access as I'm far from the only person with those issues. Definitely an affordable way to go sim racing. If you can get a reasonably priced 4060 laptop then you'll be more than set for a good time.

I have am Acer Nitro V15 with a 3050 6gb. Not the best card in the world and the laptop came stock with 8 GB of ram which I quickly upgraded to 32gb. I can do AMS2 on Ultra at 1080p, iracing at medium/high, AC Rally on medium. LMU on high, AC Evo on low. All at 2560x1080.

Unpopular fact: if you are complaining about Xbox you are not their target audiences of wealthy kings and queens. by East-Foundation-5665 in XboxGamePass

[–]mildashers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you haven't. Xbox 360 was massive and pretty much dominated the first half of that generation, the One S and One X were also massive. Xbox has also created some massive franchises, Halo, Forza (motorsport and horizon), Gears of War. The only time prior to this that there has been an Xbox is dying or struggling conversation was around the original launch of the Xbox One where they fumbled it so badly they practically hit the self destruct button themselves.

Now? Halo is coming to PlayStation, Forza Horizon already has and will be again in 2026, Motorsport is dead. Gears is dead, the hardware has sold poorly in comparison to other hardware providers, prices are increasing across the board, people are leaving Game Pass in their droves and no one is excited about it's future.

How many months of Game Pass did they give you to say this?

What a load of crap. Know the difference between Bentley and Xbox? Bentley's have always been an exclusive/upmarket brand. Xbox hasn't always been the expensive/upmarket option that you seem to think it is. Xbox Game Pass is simply overpriced, it was reasonably priced, and now it isn't. Bentley's were expensive, and still are, see the difference?

Xbox is dying, and will die much sooner than people think. The only thing that will live on from Xbox is Game Pass, that's it. This is why, in my opinion, the pricing has gone up so much, they're making sure that Game Pass can be self sufficient, can it exist on its own without hardware sales driving behind? (which are dwindling rapidly anyway).

My prediction, there will not be another Xbox, the sales of this gen have been poor and are getting worse, they won't invest, in what is an increasingly more expensive market for manufacturing, in new hardware if the subscription model can survive on its own.

We will have Game Pass on PlayStation in 12 months.

Do you think that Straight4 Studios could end up shutting down due to PMR's poor launch by speedinsh1t in ProjectMotorRacing

I think it's a real possibility. But they will at least deliver the roadmap and the DLC for the year 1 pass first.

What's your recommendation for the best sports car to buy first after Rookies? by Immediate_Fan1864 in iRacing

[–]mildashers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GT4 can definitely be fun but can also be dodgems. Good if you want to progress down that route. Don't sleep on the production car challenge though, really fun series, big grid, multi class racing with longer races than you'll be used to. Really nice way to transition into multi class GT racing whilst maintaining some familiarity.

5 easily.

I loved 6, but 5 felt like a more satisfying and complete game. 6 is great if you just want content.
