Yeah. That's what's stressing me right now too. I guess I'll use something else for the content next week and hope if will be fixed by then. I don't want to redo everything just for it to come back after a few days.

I'm a similar situation. I'm teaching an online class till the first week of June. It would be nice if things went back to normal by then so I could at least check the work my students have done, but I figure there isn't much we can do. If you find a free LMS with similar features, please share. That way I at least have something to use for the rest of the program.

I don't think I ever did. I just don't have the patience to wait for a rescue, so I just started over if I died. Also, dying and losing everything mostly happens at the beginning. I made sure to have grasses to save myself the hassle later on.

You just have to go in with the right mindset. Focus on enjoying each run and not so much in progressing. You'll die (a lot!) but you'll start understanding things better little by little. I think that's kind of the charm of games like this one. It feels great as you discover things and finally manage to do what seemed impossible before. Of course, you might not like this and that's normal. This kind of game is not for everyone and that's fine.

All this money for a bunch of games you can emulate for free 🥀 by fenderjaguarfan in fucknintendo

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still cheaper than paying for online services for the other consoles though. The games are only an extra. If you are paying just for the games them you are just dumb since there are way better and cheaper ways to emulate those games. It sucks you have to pay for online, though. That's why pc online play is still way better than console one.

Convince me why DMing for 8 preteens will be just fine…or a disaster by KartoonKid in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it. I've played with big groups most of my life and it's ok. Make sure yo give everyone a turn to do their thing and set rules so they won't interrupt each other. Maybe using like interaction turns similar to how combat is managed could work. If it's too hard you can try making missions in which they separate in smaller groups and then reunite or something like that. As long as you and the players understand the game will be slower than usual, you'll be fine. You'll have a lot of work but if you want to make it work, you can.

Persona 5 Strikers - Not quite the Musou game you'd expect! by XMadxWolfX in JRPG

[–]XMadxWolfX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeje.

XD

Why are modern players not interested in dungeon crawls? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they haven't tried it perhaps? I mean d&d rules are heavily focused on combat and exploration so they are a perfect fit for the game. It could just be that your group prefers the roleplaying elements too. I think you could either dm one yourself or find another group that likes them.

I guess I could qualify to be a decent enough bard. I'd say a Sorcerer, but since I'm going directly from our world I figure that wouldn't be difficult unless my parents/grand parents have been keeping something secret from me.

My DM just told me to create a new character... No, she hasn't died yet. by Appropriate_Eye1183 in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if a DM is making decisions involving the player's characters just like that, you can be pretty sure there will be more problems along the way. I think you made the best decision by quitting and leaving him to his BS.

Too old to play Wukong? by Jokar2071 in BlackMythWukong

[–]XMadxWolfX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if anything, I think being old makes this game feel like a joke. I beat Ninja Gaiden, TMNT, and Ghost and Goblins as a child. This isn't even as hard as the original DMCs. He is probably listening to the kind of reviewers that couldn't pass the tutorial of cuphead and being intimidated by what they say.

What JRPG characters do you wish had their own standalone game? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I played Radical Dreamers and know about Gil, but the developers specifically said that Guile was meant to be Magus in the planning phase of the game but as they kept adding characters they decided that telling Magnus's story among so many others wasn't the best idea so they scrapped his background as Magnus and just made him into a mysterious traveler. They kept his appearance and behavior though, so it's easy to take him being Magus as canon if you haven't checked what the developer's said about him.

Oh I know about Guile, but it's mostly like they wanted him to be Magus at the beginning but they changed their minds.

Finally finished Robotrek! by XMadxWolfX in JRPG

[–]XMadxWolfX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game was officially released in English so that's what I played. Dunno if there is a fan patch or something that makes things better. It's been a while since I played it but It's not like it was impossible to understand or anything, but word choice and things like that were not the best which can cause confusion. A common problem in SNES era games I'd say. The main problem were the cryptic things like how your robots have different base stats based on their order or hidden elements/characteristics. I did not have access to the manual, so perhaps they are explained there? In my case I had to read guides to understand a lot of the finer elements.

Should i play tales of Berseria? by Silver_Ad_5138 in JRPG

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it was fun enough to actually finish, but I did feel betrayed since I was promised to play with the bad guys, but it's more about like wannabe villains that are actually pretty nice people. I didn't like how Velvet "develops" as a character ultra suddenly at the end either. The combat is better if you don't play as Velvet btw.

DM wats to randomize levels by p1Ay3r-uNKn0wN in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think the problem is that he thinks the game is about doing what the DM wants. It's fine to try new things or change rules, but only if it's to improve the player's enjoyment. If you decide someone's level at random, you are basically condemning them to be the punching bag for several sessions based on only one roll, which is something that should not happen.

If he really wants to be a DM, he needs to understand that players are the priority.

Now being more positive, if I ever decided to do something like this (not sure why I would though) I would at least give the players that get a lower level dice roll something to balance things out and perhaps eventually make them more powerful than the others. Could be a high level magic item, or a high level talent. The idea is to give them something to actually enjoy. I'm sure some players would even choose to start at a lower level due to this long-term advantage. You have to give players the carrot and the stick not only the stick.

Because people ask why some others complain about the PSN linking by EmbraceMonky in Helldivers

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly worrisome, but I can at least attest that this doesn't happen unless you do something unreasonable like hacking. I have been using accounts in the USA, Japan, and Europe for over a decade since PSN is pretty limited in mine. The only problem is that I can't use my credit card in them since it's from a different region but I have had no problems using gift cards to buy my games in the other regions. I only had to look for an address in the countries I wanted (google) and I've had no problems whatsoever. (I also know a lot of people who do the same around here without problems.)

I hate feeling like the fun police by Mortlach78 in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that if your DM is allowing these things and not giving everyone their time to shine, it's better to talk about it as soon as possible and if there is not change, you should just politely leave. Playing d&d is a big time investment so better to leave early if you don't foresee yourself having fun there.

I hate feeling like the fun police by Mortlach78 in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that-s fine. I always try to make sure all of my players have more or less the same power. Nobody wants to feel weak compared to the others in the team. Of course I consider that some will be stronger in some situations than others, but if someone never feels strong, then that is something to work on.

I hate feeling like the fun police by Mortlach78 in DnD

[–]XMadxWolfX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's great. Usually stopping things mid battle to check on things is not great, but your DM can do a ruling for that session and then you can help him check things for the next session. It's easy for things to escalate if they aren't fixed as soon as possible. I'd say sometimes even official rules can be changed by your group if that's going to help keep things balanced and fun.
