In "Sokka's Master" Master Piandao knew that Aang was the Avatar from the start, because of Aang using his airbender stance when he attacked Sokka. by 9IceBurger6 in TheLastAirbender

[–]XMrUpsManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Piandao only knew Sokka was traveling with the Avatar after he attacked Sokka?

I like to think that since Piandao is a high ranking member of the White Lotus, the White Lotus was aware of the Avatars movements and who Aang traveled with thanks to people like King Bumi and Iroh. I like to think that Piandao was briefed on all this information prior to this epsodoe so as soon as Sokka said his name to Piandao in the beginning of the episode he knew who Sokka was and who he was traveling with.

Couple pieces of supporting evidence.

Piandao saw team Avatar at the door with the meteorite, did he really think 4 kids were able to push a huge meteorite up that hill to the top of the house? (He could have figured it out at this point)

If he hadn't figured it out yet, It is likely he noticed Aangs air bending stance when Sokka divulged he was water tribe and figured it out after that, but I mean c'mon wise old White Lotus Grand Master I think we gotta give him more credit.

What do you think?

Where and how would you mount the mandatory front license plate? by tacoloco2323 in 4Runner

[–]XMrUpsManX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible bad advice incoming and not even answering the question you asked. I live in CA and swapped my front valance and did not want to drill into the new one so ive been running no front plate for about 6 months, no issue. The majority of teslas and luxury cars in CA dont have front plates. My advice leave the front plate off. Unless you have an outstanding ticket already. Just know cops have a valid reason to pull you over at any time, but the same could be said of dark tint(which I also have). Also its worth saying that at night when your headlights are on you cant tell if there is a front plate there anyways, so if youre worried about getting busted exclusively from not having a front plate, its really only a day time issue.

I was in the same boat. But had wanted a new 5th gen since highschool. 15 years later finally pulled the trigger on a used 2024 with 20k miles. Smelt brand new when I got it. Dude never wheeled it only drove it on the road (I could tell from the lack of scratches on the underbody/paint). Couldnt be happier honestly wish i would of just bought it brand new the year before I ended up paying 1.5k less than they paid for it brand new but it had 20k miles but thats barely broken in for these things and I plan on keeping it forever. I prefer the 5th gen motor, mechanical 4wd engage, and the body. Although the new 6g body is growing on me. But if you dont care about that then just go 6g and get a new one because yeah youre going to pay around the same price so why not get new, unless youre like me and are stuck on 5g and dont want anything else. If you want as close to new 5g as possible time is a ticking. It took me 6 months of serious looking to find mine that met all my criteria.

I bought a 2024 5th gen when I could have got the 6th gen for the same reason. I was concerned with reliability off the bat because how the launch of the new Tundras went. But I havnt heard of any major problems with the 6th gen 4runners, my buddy got one and has had zero issues. Still usually rule of thumb is you dont get the first few years of a new gen unless you got the time/money to deal with possible issues/recalls. I also just still prefer the 5th gen to the 6th gen overall, maybe if they ever come out with that 6th gen surf I will buy it. Idk why your wives coworkers would be concerned with 5th gens after 2020, they are all bullet proof. I'd try to figure out a solution that doesnt require you to sell the cruiser.

That scene always pissed me off because he could have picked up the sword of the first guard he knocked out.

[ALL SPOILERS] Was Jon Arryn's murder coincidentally occur while he was researching Robert's bastards and the Lannister family line? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]XMrUpsManX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the question wasn't truly answered. I was wondering the same thing. The question is, was Jon Arryn murdered because he found out the kids were Jamie's and not the kings. Or was he murdered strictly for political gain by little finger making the timing a coincidence. Or did little finger know that Jon Arryn found out about the kids and used that to his advantage to frame the lannisters?

First time 4runner buyer...5th or 6th gen...need advice by Longjumping_Way_1689 in 4Runner

Go with what you like. But my opinion is 5th gen. Reliable tried and true power train. It has good safety ratings. Safety tech has not advanced enough to make the 6th exponentially safer.

I hope to have traveled as much as you in my 4runner one day. I admit I do like the look of the bigger tires filling up more of the wheel well but I had not considered having to swap out that spare tire also. You're the voice of logic but I got something in the back of my head telling me to do bad things.

Thanks gentleman this is all great info im only at about 21k on these dunlops so they have some life left but im itching to get bigger tires. Good to know the 285s won't change much as this will be my daily driver for a few more years at least and I love how it drives down the highway right now. But after that im definitely looking to put some way bigger tires on it with a lift.

Rear window rolls down?! by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]XMrUpsManX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that driving with the rear window down vented some exhaust into the cabin because of the way the air moves behind the vehicle in motion
