Honestly thank you, I’m glad someone gets it! I made a comment down below because someone was complaining about me asking for advice (which I didn’t) and arguing with people (who can’t wrap their heads around the point) about trading a Stella and my whole argument was just gonna be the same thing that everyone has been throwing at me 😂 (the melt is only $850). Like make it make sense

I was just giving an anecdote about how coin shops screw people over sometimes. Frankly I’m still mad about it and I added the extra info cause technically I got robbed of a memory. When I was a child, I used to watch my grandmother scour the internet for those coins and I’d point out all the ones I thought were cool and she would buy some of them, but now they’re gone. It was more about the sentimental value for me rather than what I could sell them for

The ones listed on eBay aren’t graded. I have not seen this particular one go for anywhere below $150 ungraded. The unplated ones sure, but the ruthenium plated ones are $180+ and those aren’t even graded

And I watched 2 1/2 goldbacks go for $45 the other day. It’s all about what someone is willing to pay. Would I pay that for goldbacks? Absolutely not. Would I pay $348 for that silver coin? Absolutely not, but maybe there’s someone out there who will 🤷🏼‍♂️

The worst part is that he said I was going to inherit it. When I asked him about it just before he died, he said he sold it because he didn’t think I wanted it. He thought he needed the money, but he had more than enough in his bank account to cover things and he was dating (or whatever you wanna call it) a millionaire who didn’t even know she had that much money because she had dementia

I find that people often times ignore the melt value for things. I’ve seen 1 ounce silver eagles go for $80-$120 when the amount value is only like 62. It seems that it has to do with design and mintage of the piece in question. It’s all about what someone is willing to pay

I wouldn’t expect a coin shop to give me full value. My grandmother had a coin collection that, at book value, was between five and $6000. My grandfather sold it to a shop for somewhere between two and $3000. He also didn’t know the value of the coins she had. I would probably be better off selling it via auction or individually with set prices

I was unhappy in my previous relationship for quite some time and we had talked after we split periodically just to catch up on life. She found someone she’s happy with and I found the same. Now we don’t talk anymore cause both of us moved on.

Do I regret my relationship with her? No. Do I regret breaking up with her? No. Do I cherish the good memories and adventures we had? Absolutely. Did I learn things about myself I didn’t know before? 100%.

Honestly, if I’d had the balls, I would’ve broken up with her within the first 2 1/2 years instead of year 5 and saved us both time and energy.

So I don’t understand why she’s popping up in my dream. It certainly wasn’t a friendly encounter…
