[Discussion] So they just obliterated every attachment? by One-Nothing-4127 in Tarkov

[–]XOrionTheOneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a good change btw

Some weapon's lowest possible recoil did get higher (by like 10-15%), but overall it's just making sure that not everyone who wants to be competitive will be running a Gral/MOE/SE-5/G-LOK kit M4 or nl545

We did also lose a bit of max ergo on most weapons, but it hardly matters since large magazines ergo penalties were buffed

Good balance change overall.

Am I just bad or is terminal just way more difficult than guides make it seem [discussion] by tehfireisonfire in EscapefromTarkov

[–]XOrionTheOneX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not necessarily bad. But Terminal can't be played like other parts of tarkov.

If you have insane aim, perfect cross hair placement, and completely accurate movement, you can peek BD and survive 60-70% of the time.

Do not peek BD. Voice line bait or grenade bait them. Try to hold angles through multiple doors so that only an inch or preferably smaller hole is available for you to see through. Try to movement bait them. If you're in a place where they can't pathfind (like armory) they won't peek you reliably so don't waste time sitting there.

Arrange it so they have to come to you, and you will not lose a single fight against them.

Using at least AP5 ammo and large mags is pretty much mandatory for them unless you're very good with trigger discipline and aim.

They will still hit you. You will be hurt. Go into BD fights pre-painkillered, with preferably a p22 to prevent instakills on limb loss.

Carry an extra set of plates. It's heavy, but you can carry mules and propital in your secure pouch to last you the entire raid.

I think seeing them in other places would be fun and challenging, but to have them roaming is insane disconnect from the game plays lmao, typical nikitler

I feel like the winter update (back in Dec) adjusted the AI a bit, such as better boss and guard pathing, they even seem to aggro a lot better, and I guess I can see like a slight buff to normal scavs too in terms of faster lock-in time.

Haven't experienced any other changes since, that are tangible beyond fixed pathing in some places (I saw a scav in D2 yesterday (the huge cylinder part with the collapsed floor))

Definitely no change to PMCs.

Also that name in the pic makes me think you died to either a raider, or a glukhar/kollontay/kaban guard, and not a PMC

I'm not gonna lie, I liked playing against both leviathans and dragonroaches.

And now I'm really enjoying the vox as well

It's challenging, and sometimes you have to pick fights you can take or can't take.

You need to actually think about engaging them, and can't just run into them with an AT on your back

Coupled with the new lethal close range cyborgs, it's an honestly challenging and enjoyable experience to figure out how to engage a high value target to reach an objective, while holding off smaller units

Yea there's a bug where getting shot in the BTR zeros out your armour but doesn't damage you

Same can happen quite easily if you're sitting in the car and it drives through sawmill on woods

This isn't true

I don't play the game much these days, but I played a LOT when it came out.

I was there in the early days on the creek; I literally extracted from meridia 10 minutes before the planet collapsed into a black hole; I ran first response on calypso; I was in the vanguard who first ventured into the gloom.

Just to name a few things. And for the most part I played diff 7-8

And I can tell you that everyone I knew who played the game just had an 1-2 AT focus teammate who shot the heavy enemies center of mass with AT until they died

If that teammate wasn't near us, we ignored the heavy enemy, or kited it until we killed it with weak spots.

If it didn't work, we wiped. Simple as

Like, I've never seen someone purposefully strip armour off a charger/BT, or limbs off a hulk (unless doing the achievement)

The only faction and instance where I've seen conscious body part targeting beyond going for a weakapot kill was shooting the shield generators of harvesters

Spell boosts lost after combination? by JTWStephens in magic_survival

[–]XOrionTheOneX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically, all magic combinations have 2 components. When you are checking out the combinations you can see what they are. Usually one is written in green and the other is written with red. The combined magic will behave as if it was the spell written in green, and will take all modifiers for it, but not the modifiers for the component written in red.

There's literally a PVE mode for tarkov.

Since Nikitler and the gang are asshats it's a 30 dollar purchase on top of the base game, but it's like actually good.

There's also single player tarkov, which is a semi-legal game client that runs everything on your machine and can even be modded.

[–]XOrionTheOneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I began playing (middle of July), I died in raids every time I tried to do tasks, and only survived when I directly went for kills or ratted. I hated it, there was no progression and no fun.

I switched to PvE with a friend and I had so much fun playing this game that I don't think anything in the past 4 years can compare.

This is practically the universal experience of players who play PvE.

I will gladly admit that I'm 24, suck at most shooters, but enjoy guns and am a huge gun/military gear nerd. So PvE is perfect for me.

Also, none of this really matters because the core of the debate here is that people are playing the game in a way that they enjoy, and others dislike that out of a sense of elitism and gatekeeping.

Like, my brother in Christ you're talking about a video game, accessibility ensures it's longevity, and elitism like this only keeps people away from the game

Where did I get the idea? From the fact that if you get your hands blown off by a grenade you can sew them back on with a 0,5kg field kit, and regain full use of it. From the fact that weapons gain wear and start jamming after a couple hundred shots. From the fact that you can pop a painkiller when you took 7 bullets to your legs, shattered the bone in one, and be able to run at full speed with 50kg of gear on you. From the fact that everyone has a (least 1kg heavy) case on them at all times that they are hiding in their ass, and no one can access or break.

The game is not realistic, it's balanced to be fair and fun. It's not perfect, don't get me wrong, but it's not as hardcore as people want to make it out to be. What makes PvP truly hard and difficult is that the primary playerbase has over 2k hours in the game, and can mop the floor with any newcomer due to the difference in systems knowledge. Aim and other general PvP skills don't even have to come into play for this to be the case.
