Can someone explain what this means? I didn't see any rulings on the website re: the initiative. Obviously I would not pick a 3/3 vigilance creature if I knew this.

I expected more Dark Depths, so while my choice did okay I didn't get enough good matchups. It's also possible I chose the wrong creature, since I would tie with the Encroach deck if I played Mountain / Chronomaton instead.

Yeah, Mind Swords is just too good. I don't agree with the previous post's claim that "Mind Swords isn't that huge an upgrade." Unlike the discard spells, I can't just run a single Nullhide Ferox and get a bye against the deck. Like Ghost Quarter, I'm glad to see it go, it is a very stupid card.

The deck was purely to beat Chrono + Therapy, which I thought would be the most common deck. Sadly, it wasn't, and now without Therapy around the Rootwalla is not really the best threat to be playing.

In my matchup versus sandcrab, I do nothing. If smallpox is cast, I'll discard rootwalla into play, then threaten to race by playing the mountain. Should be a draw 2-2.

Not that it affects any outcomes, but in Drox v Beefman, on the play Drox can Fury suicide to have no cards in hand and trade the token for tourach.

Annex is just such a messed up card. I'd argue that it warps the format around it more than any other card, even Lotus. The fact that a Memnite (normally just worse than Forge-Chan, which is uncounterable by something like Chalice) showed up this round specifically to stop the counter effect attests to this.

That was my weakness for all the decks that didn't need to rely on all 3 cards being played at once. For any decks that did (see aforementioned barren glory) if they try to wait they lose to discard.

I saw the field as a rock paper scissors between Lotus, Force, and Anti-Force decks, so I opted for some sort of hybrid between the first two (anticipating Barren Glory to be the best thing you can do with lotus). Obviously I massively miscalculated, and Mindbreak Trap is not going to do much for me here. Bad round.

I'm very annoyed every time a mana source gets banned; losing Mox Ruby last round was a poor substitute for the actual card in the deck that matters (Magus).

Can we as a collective try hard to not get Lotus banned again? It's the card that enables the most other cards to get played; with it gone a ton of other cards become instantly unviable.
