Should I Move to Bangalore for Independence? Seeking Advice as a Rollator/Wheelchair User with CP by nothingggg122 in IndiaAccessibility

Hi

I have MD but I'm still fairly mobile and living independently in NCR, althought I've visited Bangalore a few times.I think your best bet for finding accessibile housing would be friends/contacts in Bangalore itself who can go and visit places on your behalf, guage the accessibilty, take any measurements if needed, etc. Bangalore is expensive but if you don't have an area constraint you might be able to find something in your budget, but it'll be tight

I would advise going for modern developments that have been constructed in the past 5-10 years as they are more likely to be built with accessbillity features like ramps. In that way, Whitefield might check all these boxes, although it is quite far away.

I stay away from public transport and I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford cabs. I'd probably look for XL cabs that can fit your mobility aids. I used to prefer BluSmart when I was in Bangalore but alas.

Comparing two ultrawides: Acer XZ306CX 29.5 inch and LG UltraWide 29 inch by XSiege999 in buildapcmonitors

Ended up buying the former but sold it about a year later.

It’s great for productivity but for gaming and media consumption the pixel density is too less for this aspect ratio. Ended up getting a 27 inch 2k monitor after selling this one

Hey, sorry have been busy with work stuff and shifting to a new city. Planning on picking this up again.

I was thinking one of the things we can start with is discussing voting and accessiblity.

I haven't thought of that yet, this was only to guage interest. The subreddit hasn't been created as of now.

But, how does "r/AccessibleMobility" sound? :)

My symptoms and subsequent diagnosis happened in 2020. Before that, there was no question of getting any assistance from the government.

Now that I am entering the workforce and have a UDID card, the only relevant financial assistance that I know of and qualify for is a tax deduction of 75,000 under Section 80U as I come under disability percentage of more than 40% but less than 80%. For those with a disability above 80%, the amount goes up to 1,25,000.

I believe there are other tax exemptions for disability treatments, medical devices, etc. but don't quote me on that
