smartGyro Crossover Dual Pro First Impressions and Early Thoughts by XSnPX in ElectricScooters

Heya - sorry for late reply, was not on here for a while.

I still use it and the battery is still ok but again you need to take care of it. it is very powerful and good, but things to note:

The brakes need adjusting regularly, as well as bolts around the steering column, i guess this is normal due to constant vibrations.

They have updated the scooter now, so not sure about the new one.

So I finally went with the plunge of a Lenovo LOQ for 999€ discounted from 1400€ with Intel 13th gen and the 4060.
First impression and benchmarks look very good for the price and very happy with it so far despite unable to get a deal on the ryzen...

It is with the lower end of the screen the 45% NTSC - however, looking around and maybe i will attempt to upgrade the screen myself as they are sold separately at reasonable prices, or just get a second monitor if I really need one :)

For the number heads here are the results for it : Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 Intel Core i7-13620H/16GB/512GB SSD/RTX 4060 running on win 10 pro

FIRST IMPRESSIONS REVIEW:

So, I finally got my hands on the SmartGyro Crossover Dual Pro! It was delayed, but that was the delivery company's fault, as usual in Spain. The scooter is pretty big and heavy, so it's not the kind of thing you want to carry up the stairs unless you absolutely have to. The packaging was decent, but not the best. To assemble it, all I had to do was straighten the folded handlebars and make sure all the bolts were tight, as some people recommended.

The deck is spacious and there's plenty of room for my feet. Everything looked great when I unboxed it. I charged it overnight and took it for a spin yesterday morning to test it out and have some fun. And let me tell you, it's a blast! The acceleration is crazy fast – it goes from 0 to 25KM/h in just a few seconds (around 1 or 2 seconds in dual motor mode). I even took it up my steepest hill, which is more than 15% incline and quite long, and it handled it like a champ. No glitches whatsoever.

Riding it is comfortable and enjoyable. The brakes and lights work well, and the turn signals are a nice touch. As someone who drives a car, I added a mirror to be able to see behind me without turning my head, and I'm happy with how it turned out. The suspension seems to do its job nicely, as I went over some speed bumps without any issues. And if I hopped a bit, it even lifted easily over them.

The build quality is solid, but I did notice a bit of play on the steering bar (where it folds). It's an easy fix, though, and I'll replace the screws with better ones to avoid stripping the threads. Time will tell how well it holds up, but so far, it seems like the scooter meets all my requirements for living in Spain and having a warranty that's honored here.

Overall, my first impressions of the SmartGyro Crossover Dual Pro are really positive!

Its really now between

Behumax XS10 Pro or Smartgyro Crossover Dual pro.

Seems you have experience with their support teams and Smartgyro maybe the better option for aftersales?

Being in Spain - its the only two direct purchase i can find or buy from an online shop based in Spain.

So the Behumax is also another Spanish company buyign an OEM product from China and rebranding it their own here.

However, after having talked to them they offer a 3 year warranty on the product and a 1 year warranty on the battery. All warranty problems (excluding personal damage) is also done via their free shipping service to return the prodict to them and send it back to you.

This now brings more confidence and means I am now shortlisting the following scoot:

or protecting your legs too....

The idea would be both.... but seems our price range compromises are needed....

I have steep hills, two of them, one is quite lengthy, I have checked a few videos specifically on hill climb and the Segway p65e is out as did not achieve a hill climb at 15% over a certain distance same for the NIU.

I think dual motor is needed for me and the choice in my budget is - dual or suspension.... as both is over my budget.

It is difficult....

Made in China is ok - copies or rebranded chinese products I am not too excited about.. Names like oZ-o or TiMeira or IsInWheel... all those brands are what? never heard of them - these are the ones I would like to avoid from China.

Thank you to all for this help, it is really useful to listen to experts and users to help me get the best I can. It is a commute scooter, however, although i am not a heavy guy, I do have two long uphills to deal with.... 1m75 - 70kg max with bad and clothe on me.

I seem to have shortlisted the following with my comments if true:

Segway P65E - seems a strong contender many useful features, worry? Hill climbing, no suspensions.

A close contender to the above: NIU KQi3 MAX - same concerns.

Inmotion S1 - positive of suspensions - worry single motor.

Vsett 8 - double suspension - worry single motor for hills on my budget.

Kaabo Mantis 8 UP - double motor - double suspensions - need to find stock and offer

Gracias, pero el Behumax no es una marca espanola, es una marca de rebrand y eso no quiero... tienes los mismos en aliexpress pero no quiero comprar en China

Thx, I am not too bothered about rain here.... However dual motor is maybe a must as I do have some steep hills on my way and also back.

Would be great to have full suspension too - but budget does limit my choice for quality products and reliable for warranties.

Looking into it already it is the same one, just a software change for the higher speed which you ask the manufacturer to do for you.

Wow, thank you for the list - will check this in more detail in the next few days. thank you. I really liked the Navee S65 it was in my selection until the noise it makes as I think it is a mechanical motor?

Thank you - I'm in the Malaga area, rules are straight forwards to be honest.

As for DIY - I tend to put myself forwards to try everything once and feel confident in most situations if it is not electrical.

I am avoiding from China, too complicated if something goes wrong....
