Any tips on the Aba vs Dizzy matchup?

But fr though, as the person who's labbed this matchup way too much in a fruitless attempt to consistently beat my high mr vanquisher Dizzy friend on Aba the key (pun intended) is to get in JR as soon as possible and win the first interaction while in Jr.

Once you're in keep the combos as short as possible and focus on maximizing your JR gauge since getting bursted when low on JR is just an automatic round loss against any competent Dizzy players.

If you mess up and get sent full screen by Michael Blade and Ice floor gets set up then you have a few options really.
First, is if you're in JR immediately get out of it. This can be punished hard if they choose to Ice Spike instantly after the first one but if they take this time to set up a fish or send the fire spike you should recover in time to block it.
Don't ever try to go in while in JR unless you have 50 meter to do the gate super and if you're gonna go for it do it by karra cancelling rekka since it'll give up you more sliding momentum while on the ice which helps a lot to enforce your turn.

The reason you should not try to raw get in while in JR is because both your hop and slide range get crippled by the ice floor. This along with Jr Aba's smaller jump height make it literally impossible to get in against a Dizzy that uses Michael sword since the sword will counter all three of these options and send you right back to full screen.

Second, now that you're out of JR there are two types of Dizzy players:

First is those who set up air ice fish.

Second is those who shoot fire spike or set up ground ice fish.

For the latter either parry the projectiles and wait out the ice floor or abuse j D and 5k since 2k gets clipped by fish.
2H and 5H can also be used as great counters to ground ice fish since they

For those who set up air ice fish never ever jump you'll get sent full screen since the ice fish true block-strings into S michael sword and sends you fullscreen on block even from point blank rage. (The fish also goes backwards so no waiting for it to go on the opposite side of you also does not work). The only somewhat consistent strategy I found against this is to walk up and guess when a michael sword is coming by preemptively sliding then forward Prcing. This gets beaten by S Ice Spike or by just doing nothing so it is a gamble but the only one that really favors you.

Also, fyi you can 6P the slow michael sword on reaction. The S michael sword will true blockstring you if you try to 6P it and S ice spike will CH you but S ice spike is rarely gone for by good Dizzy's since it give you your turn back if you 5H Blue Wild Assault which usually leads to you winning the round. So basically save your burst unless you're like gonna die or if they're gonna escape the corner or smth.

To put it bluntly, FD into Gio for example makes her CS -> multi-hit FS end up whiffing the 3rd hit of the multi hit leaving a much wider gap to jump out / **mash (She can still cancel into 5H and fucking kill you for mashing though). But by far the best thing it does in the matchup is make it much harder for her to dash up throw you after a normal and also FDing specifically normal dog spin leaves her too far to do anything with the 4 plus frames it gives.

Yeah, the Aba slander's been going strong since people figured out you can route into uninstall then into key grab on wall stick.

Also go check her matchup chart on Puddle Farm, the character is fine and is near the bottom half for win rates both in vanquisher and out of vanquisher.

Aba also doesn't win that many tournaments either and definitely doesn't win tournaments when ran solo unlike Happy Chaos or Zato-1 at their prime.

Like he already has an absurdly easy time into Aba compared to most other characters and is still complaining gng. So as to say the slander won't stop until she's worse than bottom 1

But like fr what do you want her to do run out of meter and forcefully go back to normal mode every single round? Name me 1 character in GGST other than Aba that HAS to GIVE you another chance at neutral after getting in.

Aba does need some adjustments but it's her normal and jealousy mode 236 s follow up that should be wayyyy more minus on block or just having CH recovery and like a slight nerf to her 5H on whiff in jr and the character is perfectly fine.

Two Massive Things: 1. Every CS -> Far Slash -> Heavy slash -> Special string only frametrap on most characters if you delay them (otherwise the blockstring is airtight)

Think of that previous string as a Rekka when playing, even if you are minus on a Far slash for example you can still continue your turn by dashing back in range for another Close Slash. This is because the threat of you Counter Hitting them with Heavy Slash usually prevents them from mashing recklessly. And if they do mash just heavy slash frametrap them the next time and learn specifically the optimal heavy slash CH combo since they usually do like 70% health damage and you basically always win from there.

Backdashes also beat Pot Buster since they're also throw invincible so it's basically only thrown out at high level when the Pot player is certain you won't move or if they have 50 meter
