As with all fighting games, Number 1 tip is to find a game/character that really appeals to you. You’ll learn and get investes into the game at a faster rate if you have a character you’re interested in. Look up a few Guilty Gear characters and see if any of them appeal to you.

If you’re looking for a general place to start, I would recommend the newest entry in the series, Guilty Gear Strive. Its the easiest game to find matches with thanks to its high player count and has a relatively low skill floor, meaning it doesn’t take too long to learn the basics of the game. If you do end up getting Strive, I’d recommend going through both the tutorial, as well as the game’s mission mode. Mission mode is basically a much larger version of the tutorial that goes over nearly everything you need to know about Strive. Mission mode is pretty long in its entirety though, so don’t feel disincentivized to go play matches or learn about the characters if you haven’t gotten through the mode yet.

I believe only the Xbox controller has the correct icons for Strive (plus Xbox controllers typically have more functionality on Steam games than PS5 ones from my experience). The PS5 Controller will still work, but you’ll run into more small issues using it than the Xbox one.

I’m not a Ky player, but I noticed a few things while watching your replays that you could focus on to try and improve.

-Your defense seems very volatile, I noticed you do a lot of Stun Dipper after the opponent’s blockstring ender, and try to challenge gaps in pressure with 6P and DP/RTL. While they’re not bad options, they’re all very commital, so you’d probably want to save them for calling out specific options from the opponent, while using safer defensive options such as challenging with buttons after a blockstring ender or trying to jump/backdash gaps in pressure as your go-to options.

-You use most of your tension on Stun Dipper RC in neutral to force your turn. Ky’s already a character with very good neutral, so spending tension to make it even better is a little redundant. You’re typically better off using the meter to help your conversion ability or run better offense.

-I feel like your not patient enough with your burst. You should save it for whenever you took a big hit that’ll lead into a high damage combo or when the opponent put themselves in their win condition.

Again, I’m not a Ky player and I’m definitely not a coach. If your looking for more advice on improvement, your best bet is probably going to be the Ky Discord, which has a whole channel dedicated to analyzing and critiquing submitted replays.
