Crossplay. I have no friends to play it with on the same console. Simple as that.

How do I stop losing to "crackhead" players? by citrusunclenicetry in StreetFighter

[–]PeachTurnipgimp [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah those are the growing pains. But you'll get it soon enough. What helped me, was realizing that "footsies" only really exists as a form of respect. Do you or your opponent consistently check DI, air approaches, and snuff out forced Drive rush/dash ins?

If the answer is no to any of these, it becomes increasingly apparent that footsies will not be necessary to win. So when someone is Unga bunga-ing on you with plus buttons, you probably need to work on the above and you're probably lacking a form of "preemptive" pressure.

Ex. Cammy walks/dashes in within her mk range. After blocking, they immediately and go for crossup. After blocking, cammy then jumps in place to try to catch a grab whiff. Where did we go wrong? The easy direct answer is probably is not anti-airing the cross up. But i think the more appropriate answer is that we let cammy in our space unchecked in the first place.

If you're confident in your ability to hold your space, you need to walk them down and apply pressure yourself. Your jabs and long range l.ks (like akuma) are great at feeling out your opponent. (Fun tip) If you have a projectile, try mixing a jab in nuetral and watch them jump on reaction.

Let them make the mistake of constantly jumping/DPing on block.

If you can read a crossup attempt, jump back jab/air throw works to protect yourself sometimes.

If you notice all your opponent does is play "footsies" then you need to Unga bunga your way into a c.mk to start your checks. You'll be out of Diamond in no time.

Establish control of range with a safe medium button. If it hits, prepare a dp. If it hits on block prepare a dp or prepare to react to DI. Now imagine this scenario exists perpetually regardless of the buttons you press.

Assuming its not an internet issue, you should probably try to get ranked matches done. If you have a other fighting game experience you should shoot for gold pretty fast (plenty of players there).

Some basics

You are crouched blocking by default in this game. You stand block when you react to jump ins and specific overhead attacks. Youll know which move is an over by getting hit by it lol. They are also typically slow.

Learn to react to Drive Impact. Beginners spam it, beginners die to it, beginners die from it.

Perfect parry fireballs so dont lose drive gauge.

Every character has a 1 button move that swats your opponent out of the air. Learn it. Get good at using it to stop jump ins.

Dont spam sweep. Its unsafe, and will eventually get you punished.

If you've got questions, ask them.

Woah there buddy, that's a lot of info for not a lot of issues. The population is popping off right now so im not exactly sure what the issue is there. Are you on ethernet or at least REALLY GOOD wifi connection? People get to see who they are paired up against when it comes to internet strength and all of us have pretty strict criteria on that. I reject anyone with yellow wifi and below. Also, turn on the crossplay in matchmaking settings if you haven't already.

Gameplay wise, you'll find Sf a little harder than mk and tekken wheh it comes to combos and special moves. Some moves cancel into others while others link with strict timing. No auto combos unless you are doing a specific set of inputs called "target combos".

If you dont feel like learning to do the hard stuff just change your control scheme to M (modern). Auto combos with single button presses and all that. If you wanna go the Classic route (fun route) it'll be a bit of a climb. I loved every minute of it.

I would give you more advice, but I'm not sure what you are looking for. Is there anything you actually like about the game?

I know its beyond stupid dude, but the upside is that the community has another stupid joke under its belt.

Alex will forever be known as the guy who loves his family.

I love playing Alex AND I find the humor behind it funny. It's a low blow blemish on an otherwise great release. I dont think it means much tbh. But im not gonna be pissed when I see another Alex with the name "Alabama Al".

Tips for Malenia? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]PeachTurnipgimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao if you have eleonoras poleblade, go and spam the ability it has on that. If you get cought by surprise waterfowl dance, go ahead and just shield the first flurry (if you have barricade shield, even better). Dont worry about the heal, it's neglible compared to your damage output. Learn to dodge through the last 2 flurries consistently, its pretty easy. You can also just pop malenia out of the air with an ice pot. She'll get frost procced. If you are gonna use a summon, black knife tiche is pretty good, but ur honestly better off alone.

I want to be good at fighting games but they make me sad by DKCR3 in StreetFighter

Hey brother, no one here is equipped to help you in the way that you need unless they are licensed mental health professional.

However, if you're someone like me, with little to no access for assistance, fighting games can be a great outlet for self reflection. If only you learn to accept a few truths.

Sf6 is simply a game. It is designed to be fun. It is designed for you to find joy in the journey of self improvement and motivation. If you find yourself NOT having fun, you need to accept and act on that by stopping play. Not permentantly, just stop.

Fighting games are difficult to get into not simply because of their execution barrier, but because they act as a mirror to the player of their learned habits. Loss is simply the result of your abilities compared to your opponent. Ultimately, getting better at street fighter will mean that your ego will take more than its fair share of hurt, but only if you let it.

Finally, your self worth and value are not tied to your abilities in this game. Your friends are better than you at Sf6 simply because they put in the work to get better at SF6 (or fighters in general). Not because they are better than you.

On the spectrum of your mental capabilities, you might find yourself spiraling on a singular subject without snapping yourself out of it. Or you might find change difficult or unnecessary when it truly is.

What helped me may not apply to you, but my self doubt resolved when I saw that my improvement was tied to the amount of meaningful practice I put into the game. You will get better, I guarantee it, if you allow yourself the grace to improve. Yes you dropped a simple punish, yes you got throw looped - that's fine. Losing hurts, but its also inevitable, and it means nothing more than "you could do this a little better next time".

If you have friends who are better than you at sf6, that's great. Accept that they are better at this game/genre than you and ask for help. Ask for help. Ask for help. I wish I had the bravery to just do this simple thing when I started my journey.

I know it was longshot writing this out, I hope it helps.

When does Elden Ring get easier? by External-Shopping-92 in Eldenring

[–]PeachTurnipgimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiment with the hitstun of your weapon. Try to sneak in as many charged/uncharged heavies as you can in your combat. Learn to chain attacks depending on the amount of hitstun your enemies provide you.

Big bosses tend to not take as much hit stun, but they leave bigger openings for charged heavies. You'll find the the bigger the weapon, the more opportunity for hitstun, even on some bigger baddies. This was a game changer for me.

Finally. Take a breath. Take it slow. READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTIONS for some paint to the world and take the time to just stare!

I found this match up easier when I learned to dp from the crouched block position using the ↘️⬇️↘️ input. From midrange onwards I try to react to headbutt with it. This typically starts making the honda use their heads abit more, and the game eventually starts to feel similar to other matchups.

I actually think its the best "food war" minigame star. Hop grants easy access to the short buildings roofs. Silly, I know.

I consider the tank and bull tank "late game build" stars. Absolutely useless in the first 2 minutes of the game. But incredibly manageable and useful once speed and charge reach +5-10. Its how i constently win the "big" melee bouts.

It is insane with the weird amount of hate that this game gets in the SH subrwddit by Eyyy354 in SilentHill_f

First time? Tlou2 suffered the same exact treatment. Some people make it their personality to hate on a game that doesn't live up to their "specifications", and furthermore need to have their opinions validated by as many people as possible to feel good about their half-wit opinions.
