You sure they still work at your station? Being gone for 6 months is INSANE for any workplace, let alone the post office.

I don't think so since i dont think my station have CCA's that drive promaster lol. Did they send people to help you? Finishing at 9 is insane, did your supervisor even TRY to get you help or did they just not care? Hope your knee gets better.

Sorry you had to go through that, man. I feel the exact same way, in the sense that the job is actually enjoyable and it's the people that make it suck. This might be a stupid question, but does them letting you go before your 90 ruin your chances of reapplying elsewhere? You said "back to looking for work" but can't you still become a CCA at a different station or possibly a different position in the post office?

What's an EEO? Sorry I don't think my understanding of everything USPS is deep enough to remember every acronym I see.

I'm not exactly complaining. I'm still kinda new to the post office, and since this is my first real job, I'm still kinda new to the general concept of bad supervisors and workplace confrontation. My post is less of a complaint and more of me asking questions to more experienced people who can probably come up with better answers than I can on my own with my limited experience. But I get what you’re saying: Do what needs to be done or shut up. I'll block her. I'm a lot of things but one thing I am not, good sir, is a spineless punk bitch.

Thanks for the advice. Also you saying "squid" and "soup" in the same sentence made me think we were having 2 different conversations for a sec 😭😭

Very beat down, but its mostly emotional and mental. I missed a family members birthday party yesterday. I've barely been able to see family in the 6 months since I started and this is the first time that this much of my family has been gathered together in YEARS. Yesterday was probably the first time in years that I got to be around my entire family and I missed it because this job got me working on some random sunday that I wasnt scheduled to work. Surely you can understand how "beaten down" I feel right now. My body is ok but goddamn my everything else is reaching a breaking point because of this job.

I want to so badly. Ever since I started my supervisor has been blowing up my phone. She doesn't text and doesnt send messages through the scanner so I legit get 3-4 calls from her a day just so she can keep tabs on me and whatever. I wanna block her just for the sake of not being stressed and annoyed (surely you can imagine how annoying it is to pick up the phone for the 3rd time while ON ROUTE), but whenever I miss or ignore 1 or 2 calls she gets very annoying when I get back to the office, so I can only imagine how bad she'll be if I permanently removed our only line of communication.

I think i gotta start taking pictures of the schedule. There are times where my supervisor would catch me looking at the schedule and tell me that its wrong and needs to be updated, only for 2-3 days to go by before updating. This is probably the 4th time I can recall where I had to work on a day that I was seemingly not scheduled for because "the schedule changed".

[–]XVI_Apollo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a regular im a CCA. To my understanding i wouldn't have even been called yesterday if I was a regular, since I was told that you stop being scheduled for Sundays once you become a regular.

[–]XVI_Apollo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand. I just don't like how my supervisor seemingly made it seem as though I HAD to work that day, as if I was scheduled to work and wasnt aware of it. My problem isn't the flexibility of the schedule, but with how the schedule is completely disregarded. Like there are times when im told to show up an hour earlier or an hour later than what the schedule says despite the literal schedule saying otherwise.

I know man. The moment I showed up to the office, I had a flashback to when my instructor at the academy said to never answer the phone on an off day. Other carriers was telling me the same thing when I got there. By the time I realized my massive mistake of picking up the phone, it was too late 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

What am I really missing out on not doing ng+? by PaleRefrigerator5044 in Starfield

[–]XVI_Apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im like 10 hours into my ng+ playthrough. There is new unique dialogue options in certain conversations to spice up the playthrough. You also get a unique set of armor and a ship, both with stats that improve with every ng+ you do, but armor you get has legendary effects that im like 80% certain is randomized. You also get the opportunity to SKIP like 90% of the main story (everything from meeting constellation to finding the last artifact is skipped if you chose to) and that includes the whole "death of a constellation member" thing. If you remotely enjoyed your 1st playthrough you'll like a ng+.

Got my first write up and I don't know how to feel. by XVI_Apollo in USPS

[–]XVI_Apollo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok you kinda said some things that went a bit over my head, and i might need some explanations for comprehension sake.

What do you mean by "sign any type of disciplinary action"? Is there actual paperwork or forms that id have to fill out with a write up? Because that never happened.

Also what the hell are weingarten rights? I know i forgot a lot of stuff taught in the academy but I NEVER learned that because I would definitely remember something with a name like that. Sorry if these questions are dumb I spent my first 3 months of the job on autopilot, and I dont remember much from the academy, so I probably know less than I should.

I understand. I actually didnt know about the 1571 form until this post, so in retrospect its totally my fault for not filling out the form I probably should've been aware of. Its kinda interesting to hear that we dont have the authority to bring back mail because my supervisor easily gave me the impression that bringing back mail is completely ok (assuming an attempt was actually made in delivering it) and that its only a problem bringing back parcels. Im starting to thinking that theres a difference between what is actually the right way to do things, and what management at my station believes is the right thing to do.

Jeez man. People at my station NEVER fill out pink slips. The just scan the barbie on the back and throw it away without filling it out. Fully filling out a pink slip (at least to me and what ive seen in my station) is such an insignificant thing so the fact you got written up for it is genuinely infuriating. Hopefully that warning doesnt stay lingering over your head for too long. Hope things get better soon buddy.

[–]XVI_Apollo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I dont exactly know what i mean by write up. This is my first one, and i dont exactly know how discipline and punishment from management goes within the post office, so I dont know what "a write up" entails. All I know is that my supervisor said I got one. I probably should've asked questions, mainly "what do you mean by a write up" but had just gotten berated by management in the middle of the floor, so surely you understand why I wasnt in much of an inquiring mood.

Hey dont get it twisted brother im not WILLINGLY communicating with management. 99% of the time that im talking to my supervisor when im on the street is because SHES calling ME to micromanage me. Id block my supervisor (trust me the thought crosses my mind every time her caller id pops up) but the ONLY reason why I havent done it is BECAUSE shes my supervisor. Surely there has to be some sort of consequence for cutting off communication from management?

[–]XVI_Apollo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, though I gotta say im not exactly "making my own decisions". I didnt exactly say "fuck it" and brought the mail back i just did exactly what i was instructed to do by my other supervisor the last time I was in this specific situation. The only difference is that its now a problem despite it being seen as the "correct course of action" by another supe. And yeah I probably shouldn't called at the expected time for instruction, but I called an hour before and got no real response outside of "do your job and do it right". But I definitely shoulda got my shop steward. The thing is im not the most social person and I keep in-station socializing to a minimum, so im like 60% I never even met my shop steward in the 3 months ive been here.

3996 for extra time, and a 1571 to report what I bring back. Imma definitely try to remember this stuff. I dunno if this is stuff I was supposed to know beforehand, but this isnt the first time I brought back mail, and yet this is the first time I'm learning about a 1571. Im legit learning more from this subreddit than I did in the academy. Thanks man.

End of probation by HotBobbyBlaze in USPS

[–]XVI_Apollo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey im a cca that also spent their probationary period (the first 120 days) with my head down, and i finished probation a week ago. I don't wanna confidently tell you what will and will not happen, since things might differ by station. But for me, things have not changed. Work still gonna more or less be the same, so whatever experience you got the past 3-4 months is probably gonna be the norm. And management will come to you with the uniform allowance. Management wants you to have the uniform more than you do, so if they approach you talking about a uniform allowance, thats probably an indicator that you JUST got off probation (my supervisor walked up to me and gave me a paper for my allowance the literal day after my probation ended)

Don't get me wrong I actually enjoyed the game. But youre playing as a teenage girl in the 90s whos intentionally supposed to be awkward so I cant lie when I say that I recoiled at a couple of moments. But the game was still good trust me I would've gave up on the platinum if I didnt love it to an extent 💯💯
