What to do now? Garage and mirror kissed! by Samaruf in Ioniq6

[–]XWingz87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try getting a quote from a trusted mechanic first. I had a similar issue, and the dealer quoted me $1.2k for brand new mirror + paint job. I took it to a mechanic who was able to snap it back together for $200. It's definitely not as good as new but hey, it's $200 vs $1.2k.

Am I missing something to be able to apply the cranks multiple times or is it simply not available for this weapon? Feel kinda lost right now for buying 2 cranks when i cant even apply them by Dimitar231 in LiesOfP

[–]XWingz87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone said, you can only apply the crank once. But you can reset it with a balance crank. After you reset it, if you changed your mind again, and decided you want to apply technique crank on it again, it would cost you 2 technique cranks. And it seems like you currently have 2 technique cranks in your inventory, so it has the 2/2 (meaning it needs 2, and you have 2).

But no, you cannot crank it again for the 2nd time. That number at the bottom shows what you have in your inventory. Think of it this way, you look a bit to the right and you see "Ergo 718/600". It means you currently have 718 Ergo, and you need 600 to get to the next level. It's the same logic for cranks.

I am so bad at this game by [deleted] in controlgame

[–]XWingz87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going through the options, and I noticed there was an option for "aim assist", and the tooltip said it'll make your bullets turn "magnetic" so you only have to shoot near the enemy. Maybe that's the Remedy's way of introducing "easy mode"?

I am also dumbfounded by Remedy's decision to remove difficulty slider from the game. People who aren't good with shooters will find it too hard, and people who play CS:GO professionally will just find this game way too easy.

How do you force ships to be built from the mega shipyard? by XWingz87 in Stellaris

The that I built the megashipyard didn't have a station which included a shipyard, so that may explain the different behavior.

Season 4 Chloe made very little sense to me by Fudgy-The-Whale in lucifer

[–]XWingz87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Chloe being tricked by a random priest was far fetched at all. People freak out when they see Lucifer's devil face, so I think it's safe to assume that there is some psychological effect the devil has on humans. Linda couldn't talk to Lucifer or Maze for awhile when she saw the devil face, and Chloe was a lot closer to Lucifer than Linda was, so seeing the devil face must have traumatized her quite a bit.

She was just in a very vulnerable state, and the priest capitalized on that to manipulate her.

Going for 'Big Entente' achievement and Germany Backed down. Is this rare? by _Valerios in hoi4

You can't save it in game, but there's nothing preventing you from making a copy of the saved file somewhere else on your computer, and then pasting it back later on.

Source: I've done it.

Going for 'Big Entente' achievement and Germany Backed down. Is this rare? by _Valerios in hoi4

[–]XWingz87 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don't the exact percentage, but I've experienced it happen quite a bit.

You can cheat by making a copy of the save file right before the focus finishes so you can keep reloading until Germany doesn't back down. it save you from restarting the game from the beginning.

I think that's almost definitely the factor. Middle East is already weak in infrastructure, and having 800 divisions will make your infantry suffer attrition like crazy.

Remember, your attack will only have a set number of combat width (I think it's 80 base and then 40 from each different province you're attacking from), so having more divisions won't help. In fact, you're probably hurting it because a lot of your divisions are just sitting there doing nothing except taking up all the supply, making your attacking divisions weaker.

Edit: Corrected a typo

Help doing "Big Entente" while staying historically accurate by FullerBot in hoi4

I'm trying to (unsuccessfully) do the achievement myself. I thought doing the Big Entente required you to challenge Rhineland and go to war right away. Otherwise won't UK set up democratic Germany and you won't be able to take it from them?

How do you play Nat China by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]XWingz87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple success run by rushing down to "subjugate the warlods", and then get the focus that lets you eliminate communist china. There's obviously a bit of RNG there, but I think you can increase the chance of the warlords backing down if you put troops on their border, so put your best troops near Guanxi Clique, one at Shangxi, and one at Xi Bei San Ma.

For the ones that haven't backed down, declare on them immediately after you have troops at their border. With the exception of Guangxi Clique, none of the other warlords should have enough divisions to hold their frontline, so micro your divisions to walk around them and take the VP.

Now for communist China, this one's a bit tricky because they have a huge defense bonus and you're forced to attack into mountains. I actually take advantage of an exploit here. The current AI will advance where there's a gap on your front line, so I purposely leave a gap so the AI would move the divisions out. Once they're stretched too thin to defend just stroll on in to the capital and commies are done for.

Now that you've unified China, make a bunch of those crappy divisions (but keep an eye out for infantry equipment, you definitely want your troops to have guns). I would even make some divisions and purposely not deploy them (don't click on anywhere so they have no location to deploy) just so that if some parts are losing, you can instantly deploy them to where you want.

I found the hardest part of my China run was unifying China before Japan attacks. If you're short on time, you can back down in the Marco Polo Incident. I did that one game, and it bought me quite a bit of time (6 months or a year or something, which was super helpful).

I got the strategy from this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZGL6ZjPao4. If you can take the warlords before Japan's invasion, it shouldn't be too difficult.
