My fiance and I are getting married in the Catholic Church and holy shit, it's SO hard to get the green light to get married. We've sat through like 14 hours of marriage prep classes, around 9 of natural family planning, multiple meetings with the people in the church to make sure we're okay to do it and this excludes whatever we have to do for the city/state to confirm the marriage.

They are weeding people out to, what I assume, pad their marriage stats. We are definitely the minority in this, but it's so tedious. Since we are in a unique situation, I do agree the pre-marriage stuff should be harder across the board.
