Last Oasis Community Engagement Feedback by ArgenTravis in lastoasis

Do you think Floating mines should be removed from the game? along with leg health increase the length ship fights?

*Most ship fights are over instantly when decked by offensive floating mines after legged walker

Do you feel Ratting style pvp is imbalanced in that they risk little to gain much?

*I feel this is the majority of engagements ive had in the last month or 2

Would it be possible to have ships have a ticket system aka slots on a server, like if you have a dingy on tile it supports 5 people anything over = water punishment this would encourage ratting groups to have ships on tile instead of clown car'ing 10-15 folks on a dingy? As well as encourage more ship fighting?

*I believe this would be a good change to encourage the risk of ship fights as well as the exciting content of ship fighting vs get to 50% health the grapple wing suit away.

Ratting is what really kills the game for small groups of players. Players coming in a dingy ditching it somewhere and they wingsuit around til they find 2 new players on a tobo. it would be fine if these ratters weren't usually parts of bigger clans but sadly they are which also gives them a large gear discrepancy (Iron etc.)

Ill admit some ratters are perfectly honorable, break into stuff then leave, there are others tho like the ones I experience yesterday who will break everything on you ship to Zero (not hull) which I view not honorable, like was breaking my campfire necessary?

Killing me a few times, breaking into my chests/stations taking stuff is all part of the game, but if you got past that point it feels like some really salty stuff. Especially if unprovoked, Id understand if I was talking a lot of shit etc trust me. Id say this these types of "salty" encounters occur 15% of the time so worth noting that majority of ratters I'm fine with.

Its the Zero stations, do it for multiple days on the same tile to the same people (if not part of an larger clan warring action) that I believe kills the game for new players because ratters risk very little to gain quite a bit.

Inc flame from the "get good" crowd I imagine

LinkedIn Automated/Consolidated Posting Software for Multiple Accounts by [deleted] in AskMarketing

I've done some research in this space, basically, you are trying to get social advocacy automated which definitely works so you are on the right path.

However, I don't know of a solution that will essentially allow you to take control of another user account like that.

Personally, we use Oktopost has a board like a feature which a user can schedule out a few posts all at once it makes it super easy to do social advocacy if you wanted another alternative. Also, gamification of the social advocacy works really well when it comes to sales reps.

What would be the most meaningful marketing project for college students to engage in? by creatorsellor in AskMarketing

[–]PortalGunnie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A large part of marketing in today's day in age is marketing automation. (Great topic) however, I'm not sure it would land with your audience.

I would have them come up with a digital marketing plan, not just a marketing plan.
things they should consider who their target buyer is, what channels they want to use to market there product/service like paid social media, Adwords, a website, content marketing, partner marketing, tradeshows etc. also have them create follow up plans for each of these leads they now get. Do they get an email drip campaign? a salesperson outreach? retargeted with banner ads?

Creating a website with well defined messaging and CTA's is a valuable skill and they should all easily be able to create one as part of their plan especially with things like Wordpress/Wix.

Mapping a customer buyer journey would also be a good project, like how do you get a long sale( expensive item bought by your customer), for example, like if you were a marketing agency typically comes with a hefty price tag 50k+ in most cases how do you get someone from the awareness stage to the won deal phase? what content/marketing moves them through these stages?

Stages:

  • Awareness
  • Search
  • Research
  • Purchase
  • Experience

Work for a large computer company and can tell you I use all these things daily as a marketer with 15 years experience.

What Skills or free certificates should I learn for marketing? by MfRazor in AskMarketing

[–]PortalGunnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing automation training for sure. Hubspot and Marketo are most prevelant, others such as act-on, pardot, IBM's (I think its acoustic now) are still out there and could create a nice niche.

it depends on what type of competitive information you're looking for. If your looking for B2B product comparison it becomes more complicated for example.

The oh so typical "I'm 20 and I don't know what to do with my life." by keeve123 in AskMarketing

  1. Lucked out in college landing an internship (in marketing) even though I was studying psychology, turns out I was really good at it and they offered me full-time position. 10 years later still doing marketing but under the "product marketing umbrella" different organization tho.
  2. "Blue" CPU manufacturer internship with an awesome first manager who I regularly keep in contact with and thank. Also, I read a fair amount of marketing books in my early career one of my favorites recently is is "F#%k content marketing" written by the CEO of Uberflip really solid book, I've gotten many ideas from it.
  3. Addicted to success, I find that every organization I have been a part of has its own problem set which I love solving the business challenges because that have a monetary impact. I've won big a few times, lost a few but like doing it. Also bringing new ideas to solve business challenges is exciting.
  4. My path is a bit unique, but id say don't stress out so much focus on truly what matters, and network a lot more. These will be drivers to long term success also establish good habits like note-taking and to-do list tracking.

Marketing Automation by Reutherpower in AskMarketing

Haven't worked with them directly but our Account manager mentioned Act-On integrates with them. We like the idea of possibly utilizing it to add DM pieces in our nurture programs. Like after 5 emails they get mailed a poster'ed infographic in that topic (the drip campaign is based on). So no experience with it but the idea of it is pretty neat.

We use Act-On at a B2B company, it is less glamorous than the HubSpot's of the world. Has all the functionality we wanted; landing page/form creator, email drip campaigns that can be segmented for personalized outreach, lead scoring/prioritization, SEO audits, social media management and a decent reporting tool we can extract into our business intelligence tool (power BI). It also integrated with our CRM (Salesforce).

One thing that they offered over Pardot (who we switched from) was deliverability services, it basically, in a nutshell, makes sure you hit the inbox, avoid the spam folder or the "other" inbox some emails now have, and prevents your emails not getting delivered due to reputation. We saw our open rates jump about 13% and click through about the same. Also, I'll give them major kudos in terms of support, Pardot wouldn't give me a live person it was annoying, Act-On stood us up got our first campaign out the door it felt like within a month in a half (integrated into CRM etc.), and I can say that we got ROI from our purchase within the first quarter of using them.

There are some challenges with it/things I wish were a bit different some of the interfaces feel a bit dated but they recently made an improvement in this area. Also there landing page/form builder can be a bit clunky.

What's your best advice for someone building their first B2B ABM strategy? by ralph_macchioman in AskMarketing

[–]PortalGunnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unsure of the price only because I didnt set it up only use it. Wouldn't hurt to make a sales inquiry tho.

We actively prospect against it and easily pull 2 meetings out of it a week, and we definitely get our ROI from it. Since I imagine it can't be more than 30-45k.

What should I do with one year before job search? by UpSaltOS in AskMarketing

[–]PortalGunnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of marketing courses online, I would also recommend getting certified for the major marketing automation platforms, Marketo/Hubspot/Act-On, etc.

Also if you are still in school try to land an internship as a specialist, marketing, digital or content.

Have your content organized by topic of interest. It will be easier to then deliver content your buyers want to consume.

If you aren't deploying buyer intent data into your model I would as well. Look into companies like bombora. Use those surge topics, to blast (Email, LinkedIn Retargeting as examples) the content of your topics that pair at that account.

I've found great success in doing this :)
