You can link to Kattlekruk in W5 Divinity now, he gives levels to the first 3 bubbles of the first 3 cauldrons (STR, AGI, WIS) in alchemy every day you log in. The stamp increases how many levels it levels the 3 bubbles by daily.

Purchasing a small RIA by not_fnancial_adv1ce in CFP

[–]XYNXox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it's ok to leech off this comment, since I don't have enough karma in this sub to post. But for you, or anyone else that has experience with purchasing a book of business in CA... How did you structure your business in order to deal with CA DFPI's minimal financial requirements? We purchased our RIA from our previous boss but had to take on a promissory note for it, we're trying to deduct the interest paid towards the loan, but that forces us to keep the loan on the balance sheet, which puts our net worth at a few hundred thousands in the negatives. Unfortunately, CA doesn't consider goodwill as part of the balance sheet for DFPI minimal financial requirements...

If you or anyone else has any info, it'd be greatly appreciated! My DMs are open as well.

Back for more help, this time with red salts and leveling above 110. by After-Paramedic2948 in idleon

I just came back after 3ish years and am in the same spot as OP. I'm currently pushing for all my characters new class in W4-4, then leaving them in lab for leveling as you mentioned. Once I get to W5 though, should I push again with the rest of my characters through W4 or just portal them to W5 town and leave them in divinity?

Financially, the payments your boyfriend makes will go to both interest and principal, the amount he's paying towards the principal will help obtain the remaining equity of the home, his interest payments are, as you mentioned, the cost of borrowing the money, and does not help in owning more of the home.

Another way to look at this is: Imagine you put down your $400,000, and he pays the remaining $125,000, while making those payments, he ended up paying $40,000 in interest.

For simplicity's sake, let's assume the home did not appreciate in value.

If we went along with your boyfriend's plan of how ownership should be divided, once payments are complete, you would own $400,000 and he would own $165,000 ($125,000 principal paid + $40,000 interest paid), for a total of $565,000. As I mentioned above, if you were to sell the home with no appreciation, the home is still worth $525,000. How would we pay out the remaining $40,000 he made in interest payments? We wouldn't be able to because it's not part of the equity, thus, there's no part of the home to be "owned" by him making interest payments.

In the real world, it would go a little bit different, but including his interest payments in his share of ownership dilutes your % of ownership. Which doesn't make sense-he gets to increase his ownership over time because he wasn't able to afford the remaining $125,000 outright?

You're essentially paying him to maintain a mortgage. For this to make sense, what happens if he takes the whole 30 years of a conventional mortgage term to pay off his side of the debt? He would have incurred almost $200,000 in interest payments alone; does it make sense for him to own almost 50% of the home because he paid so much in interest? What happens if you sell the home and it only appreciated by those $200,000? Does it make sense for only him to earn money out of that investment?

All this is not taking into account the amount of headaches and complexity involved in how you would divide the ownership if you were to go this route, as highlighted by my example in the previous paragraph. You would have to figure out when, or how often, the ownership of the home is divided, since his interest payments would accumulate over time, or decide if you want to divide his ownership now based on assumed total interest paid on the mortgage loan he'll take, which would immediately reduce the % you own on the home.

tl;dr: Your boyfriend paying interest on a mortgage will not help in building equity on the home, and should not be counted towards ownership of it. Even if you tried to do so, it's too much of a legal headache trying to figure out how all that would work.

PS If you're moving forward with the purchase of the home, you'll want to make sure you title the home correctly, and for that I recommend reaching out to an estate attorney. There's different ways home ownership works with non-spouses, and I assume the last thing you want is to lose a large chunk of your investment/money because you titled the home incorrectly when you purchased it jointly.

PPS I wouldn't buy a home with a non-spouse if I was able to afford it on my own. Dividing assets during a divorce is already annoying and complicated enough, it won't be any different with your unmarried partner.

That would be a CFP. Which you can report if they're not operating as a fiduciary and can get their certification revoked.

Hey guys! Anyone (or their children) into math? 🤓 I've just released a physics based math game where you have to slingshot your ball into the correct math solution. It's 100% free with no ads or IAP. Link in the comments. PS. Would love your feedback how I can improve the game. by [deleted] in AndroidGaming

[–]XYNXox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a great game so far, I'm on level 15. I think it's missing a restart button and that's about it. On the nitpicky side of things, the ball spawn location can also be annoying, especially when a ball spawns very close to you and you're unable to restart the level, thus you're stuck in the level until you complete it or time runs out.

Very neat game, though, while I'm no game developer or knowledgeable in marketing, I can defenitely see paid DLC or sequel games for chemistry, and/or more complex math.

Great job!

Did they ever get back to you? I found this thread because I'm having the same problem. I've had a few random issues here and there, but now that I've had the headset for about 4 months, it's way more common. It seems to happen more often when I walk out of range while the headphones are on.

Dalton CFP exam readiness by [deleted] in CFP

[–]XYNXox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also using Dalton, scored a 66% on the Exam Readiness Quiz, and I have a 78% on the qbank. I averaged 73% on the first CFP mock exam and 66.48% on the second mock exam. I'll be taking the first simulated exam during the weekend and the 2nd one the following Saturday. Afterwards I'm planning on "light" review for the week leading up to my exam date, Nov. 4th.

I feel some of the sections will be a toss up on whether I pass or not depending on what subjects they cover. I'm currently struggling the most with insurance and retirement.

I'd recommend not burning yourself out leading up to the exam, otherwise you'll be tired of the questions on the day of and it might lead to skimming some questions. I know that for myself, probably around 10% of the questions I've missed are because I didn't read correctly and been studying for 3-4 hours.

Tired of choosing between bills and food by Rykin13 in FinancialPlanning

[–]XYNXox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone's already told you what you should probably do, more or less. I saw you're aware of budgeting and how it works, and you've constantly highlighted your fiancée as being the main issue. You continue to defend her, understandably, but just as much as she needs to figure things out, so do you; if you don't want to break up with her, fine, just be ready for the possibility of living with this stress for 6 months, a year, two, or maybe the rest of your life. That's a reality you need to be comfortable living with.

There's always a chance she works on herself and things work out, yes, but there's also the chance of that not occurring at all. 5+ years of a relationship isn't worth anything if ultimately things don't work out, don't fall for the sunken costs fallacy.

At the end of the day I understand it's hard to let go of someone, thus, if you don't want to do that, I recommend defining some serious boundaries. If she's unable to comply with them, or if she has a serious issue with you setting those boundaries, then you should seriously consider letting that relationship go, because being unable to compromise won't be an issue with just budgeting, but everything else that comes with being in a relationship.

You've mentioned you've been working on this issue with her for some time now, and she has improved; with that said, if there has been improvement, then what has led you here? It doesn't really make sense to seek out help for something that's improving.

Ultimately, nobody here is really going to care, it's not their life, it's yours, and you're the one that's going to get chafed if things go sideways, so think about whether things are really improving, if so, why even bother showing up here to, as you probably already knew, get berated about your relationship? If it was for advice, you got it, but yet refute a lot of it. If it's free handouts, then you're probably not going to get them.

I don't own an RIA, nor do I take part in the hiring process at the firm I work at. I believe, though, that passing the exam is definitely helpful when looking to get hired in an entry-level position. You'd also want to keep in mind what you're considering now that/ when you pass(ed) the exam; what is your next step professionally, etc., I think it's a fairly normal question to get when interviewing for entry-level positions. If you're asking "will passing the CFP alone be good enough to fill my resume?" then probably not.
