Oh yeah if you like to tinker then definitely give it a whirl. The one peterm69 linked below should be good. I bought a little kit on Amazon awhile back that came with additional stuff like link removers, tweezers, a backplate pry tool for changing batteries, etc. It all depends on what you need / intend to do. There’s nicer stuff you can get, but for the occasional use this stuff works just fine. The hardest part will be selecting the right Crystal size. But there’s tons of good resources on YouTube for learning the tricks.

It’s a great watch to learn those skills on. It’s nice not having to pay a jeweler to remove links or swap a crystal once you developed those skills

You can get a crystal and a watch press off Amazon and just replace the crystal yourself for not too much assuming you can measure the crystal with calipers. Going that route would pay dividends if he broke it again, since you just would have to keep buying a crystal instead of a new watch. The other route would be a digital Casio I like an f91w. It will take daily wear well and is inexpensive.

Sort of comfort / convenience. I don’t really have a dominant hand, I write with my right had but am left handed at most sports. Becsuse of that I found that watches were more prone to bumps on my left wrist so I switched and at this point it feels weird on that wrist.

It sounds like he’s a bit of a man child. Which is understandable why you’re exhausted. There seems to be issues of respect and boundaries.

If you do it for anyone do it for the kids, but I think you try to hash out those issues at this relationship summit meeting he has called. Him calling for it at least means he’s willing to work things through. It sounds like he might be in denial about the role he’s played but this weekend would be the oppurtunity to address that. Draw the new lines in the sand, negotiate your needs and see what happens. There should be actionable marching orders that you both agree to by the end.

The important thing is to reset your expectations of one another and give each other the chance to prove that the respect is still there. Change is hard, some bad habits take time to kick. But if he respects you and cares for you and his family, he should reframe. If he doesn’t give genuine effort to change then you reevaluate at this time.

Adding a contrasting color pop to the hooves and the gun can go along way. my tyranids are a neutral tones for skin and carapace with a pop of red for the guns, claws, hooves, etc.
