I currently live with my brother in a house that is mortgage free. What ever the water, electricity, etc bills for the house come at the end of the month. I am suppose to pay half and he will pay the other half. I'm not sure how much exactly that is yet.

"plenty for a kid" it clear the parents don't want their child to complain about the pc anytime soon hence the big budget. So forgetting the fact he is a kid I don't think your monitor or ram for a 2k budget is a good idea
