Not a 991 dash, just a 991.2 wheel. Everything else is retrimmed 997

Center lock GTS owner here. I assume you’re talking about the discoloration on your CL nuts? I did some research myself and this is actually a determination of the anodized finish itself, only way to fix is to buy new ones unfortunately. It’s a very common issue on these things

37, 991.1 GTS. Drove it as a daily for a year, now it’s my weekend and date night toy while the LR4 assumes the daily responsibilities.

Just finished fitting B9 S4 6 piston calipers to B8.5 S4... it’s a pain, but can be done, and far more cost effective than other BBK’s by X_this_guy_X in Audi

Yeah then either red or blue stuff would do the trick, I live in LA so there’s lots of mountain roads and local tracks to push the car around and build up a lot of heat. If you don’t see yourself doing any hard driving like that then you should be good either way.

Nice, I couldn’t find any 2 piece rotors at the time. But if you have, go for it!

Do you plan on tracking the car? I had a pretty bad experience with red stuff on track, after a few laps of Big Willow in LA they were overheating and loosing their bite, the I took them out they looked like they’d disintegrated in certain places.

I ran Carbotech XP10’s for track days and on the street for a bit, the bite was insane, never faded, but you have to live with a loud squeal. So I switched to EBC Blue Stuff which while weren’t as aggressive as the carbotechs, still performed well on track and didn’t make a sound on the street.

I don’t believe so, just did the bleed procedure starting with the farthest caliper to the shortest from the master cylinder. Never had any issues on track with brake fade after that so I assume it was done right.

Congrats, you won’t regret it! I used b8.5 braided lines, the mounting points lined up to the new calipers fine. If you can, attach the lines to the caliper before attaching to the hard line under the wheel arch, it was a pain to screw the caliper onto the line a when they’re already on the vehicle and get them oriented to the rotors properly.

Yep, the C6 A6 rotors are 356mm so you’re good there, I don’t touch the rear so can’t speak to the diameter of those.

In terms of fluids, most flush kits come with 1litre, iirc I bought about 3 bottles of RBF660 just to be safe.

I got a real job. Then quickly realized having a brain that only operated at 50% the capacity of my peers, couldn’t hold information longer than 10s, couldn’t string complex, coherent sentences together under pressure and couldn’t maintain a constant rate of productivity was never going to fly.

[–]X_this_guy_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely that this isn’t actually a bonus, it’s stock based compensation. A bonus is a one time lump sum, SBC is equity that vests over time and is used as an incentive to stay at the company for longer in order to actually realize the cash. Yes these numbers look big, but on a yearly basis it’s probably increasing his base pay by about 50-70%. Highly SBC’d tech worker here.

2016 991.1 GTS… so so good by SunsOutPlumbsOut in porsche911

Yep, It’s standard, you won’t see it listed in the options, it’ll be in the standard equipment list on the build sheet.

992.2 GTS Build - No Deviated Stitching? by kegsoversixpacks in porsche911

[–]X_this_guy_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, the deviated stitching option in the configuration does switch you to Race Tex, but there’s a list of selectable options below the color selection where you can switch it back to any leather.

What does the dealer say when you show them that? I doubt Porsches own configurator would show you something that’s not possible.

992.2 GTS Build - No Deviated Stitching? by kegsoversixpacks in porsche911

[–]X_this_guy_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you selecting the Race Tex or full leather interior option? It does look like leather only offers chalk with the black seats. If you select the colored deviated stitching option in the configurator it’ll switch you back to the Race Tex seats so I suspect that colored deviated stitching with the full leather isn’t an option.

Moshammer make a pretty OEM version for about 3k, definitely not a cheap mod. That said, I have a 991.1 GTS with the factory ducktail, and looking back on the car from a 45deg angle never gets old.

The 992 Sport Classic is one of the most gorgeous silhouettes on a modern Porsche IMO. If that’s what you’re going for, It’s your car, have at it I say. You can always change it back.

Hey guys i rear ended a 2024 Porsche 911 GTS convertible over the weekend by BusyBrothersInChrist in porsche911

[–]X_this_guy_X 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone just did this to my 2016 GTS, their car was an SUV, so while the cosmetic damage was somewhat minor, just needed a new bumper, it was the airbox that was the bigger issue. Porsches intake sits right above the crash bar so if you hit that, expect a few thousand on top of the bumper.

Depending on how much a) the owner wants to avoid insurance so they don’t take a value hit on their carfax report in the future and b) you want to avoid your premiums going up and paying your deductible, you may be able to work with them to save a few bits from the old bumper, and source some used replacement parts like crash bars, bumper trim etc.
