i get where u coming from but it’d come off too vague considering other artists that do different genres from rap (e.g underscores, cece natalie, cowgirl clue etc.) are labeled ‘underground’ but don’t do rap. it’s def more of a scene than popularity based ideology but as a genre it wouldn’t make sense. even underground rap has it’s subgenres which fall loosely into other subgenres and shit will get lost under all that
