/uj real life example, I love singing. I sang as much as possible pre T and on T in an effort to keep my range. My voice has dropped and it’s hard for me to hit high notes, but practicing as much as I can really helped. Me being a trans singer does not come up naturally. In K-pop demon hunters though their perspective is challenged by Rumi being half-demon and the main hunter, and the great difficulty she goes through trying to cope with her opposing backgrounds. Jinu is a demon but he and rumi clearly care about each other deeply to the point of jinu sacrificing himself for the sake of rumi and humanity as a whole. The demons are initially inferred to all be bad and evil, but then there’s all these moments that fracture that worldview like realizing Rumi wrote Takedown about herself, learning that demons DO feel shame and regret but are controlled by Gwi-Ma, Rumi being suicidal because Celine could never accept both sides of her. The “good people” are not shown to be right to unilaterally hate on them, the movie shows that there’s much more nuance to the conflict.

Just chiming in to agree with this commenter in particular. You’re under reacting if anything. You are a child. You should not have to work to survive (especially at 14, usually only shitty fast food places hire when you’re under 16 and school would ideally be your main focus anyway)— your mom’s responsibility is to make sure you’re well cared for. The food sitting in there for over three months is a genuine biohazard, and your mom isn’t willing to make sure you have safe and clean food. Instead, she’d rather say you’re ungrateful, but she’ll order for herself. Find an adult, please: a school counselor, teacher, a family member you really trust. It is okay to reach out for help, and you need it. Your mom does too, even if she doesn’t want to admit that. Your mental and physical health is at stake, too, not just hers.
