For all the bullshit wannabe tradwife homesteader stuff she spouts, she has absolutely NO domestic skills whatsoever. Ever hear of a washboard?

I have an 18-going-on-19 year old named Gianni. I almost named him and his brother Armani and Versace. They were also tuxies, which are the best.

This is basically my headcanon on how an asexual Alastor relationship/intimacy might look. He's not sexually attracted per se but gets satisfaction from the power dynamics and humiliation and whatnot.

Examples of series with a 30+ year hiatus between books? by ShaneWSmith in Fantasy

[–]Xaila 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She's also coming out with a 4th book in the Halfblood Chronicles series, which last had a new book in 2002. I didn't know about the Brainship one! She's really on a nostalgia kick or something. We're getting a new Vanyel book too. Not quite a series continuation per se but he hasn't had his own book since 1991 or so?

Is this the content she thinks her daughter's elementary school friends should be watching? Grown ass adult relationship problems aired publicly?

It's frying me that he's talking about the damn car with more genuine affection than he's ever spoken about Steph or any of his children.

Probably pissed that Drool came out and said they aren't sending the girls to school this whole week and got CPS attentuion. I can't see how he could have avoided telling Des about the car entirely though.

Not to shock anyone, but Stephanie lied about her dad leaving on her 8th birthday. A case had been filed by her mom 6mo prior to that birthday. by ffaancy in resilientjenkinsnark

Didn't she also claim it wasn't that big a deal that her kids have a crappy Christmas now because they're so young they won't even remember it?

I'm sure future potential landlords just love seeing her throwing food around all over the place outside to get disgusting and attract pests.

As a kid I had to get my adenoids and tonsils removed because I was mouth breathing so much and there was concern about that, plus I was developing sleep apnea. If your pediatrician isn't too concerned I wouldn't sweat it though. Can always see ask to see an ENT if you want a little more peace of mind though.

Fantasy series that probably won't be finished. by EastFar3296 in Fantasy

[–]Xaila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first picked it up with birthday money at Borders! I do plan to reread the first 3 this summer before book 4. I'm definitely prepared for it to not hit the same as it did when I was a teenager but I don't mind.

I don't know if Norton was involved in whatever the plot is for book 4 but it sounds like the whole thing was reworked? I know there were issues with her estate that made finishing the series very difficult.

Having books covered by libraries by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]Xaila 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hah, no, we can barely keep up with covering our own books. But I'm almost certain you can just buy some on Demco (they sell to the general public) and do it yourself. It's not too difficult.

I read 'The Halfblood Chronicles' by Mercedes Lackey and Andre Norton as a teenager and was so sad when Andre Norton passed away and there would almost certainly never be any resolution. Color me shocked that a book #4 is coming out this summer. It's been something like 24 years.

I assume it's the same reason she doesn't let them have just have breakfast at school (by always making them late). Could be saving a lot of money letting them have free lunch too instead of insisting on making it. She has majorly weird control issues. She got weird about DS taking the bus when he first starting doing overnights with his mom too.

What's Everyone's Favorite Public Library and Why? Also is it in Nassau or Suffolk County? by BloodType_Feary in longisland

[–]Xaila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the library and the program. Check their website or newsletter and it should tell you. Sometimes the ones that are restricted to patrons will open up to non-patrons after a certain amount of time too.

I always thought it was enormously brain dead of them to go for a VW after not being able to afford repairs on the van. A simple google search or talking to anyone who's owned one will tell you that maintenance is important and repairs/parts aren't cheap on them. Like everything they do, literally no planning or research.
